View Full Version : Hi, I'm Kara! Come meet me and say hello! (Kara D)

Hi there everyone!
My name is Kara, and I'm one of the newest models for Abby Winters! I in fact just had my first photo shoot on Monday, though it won't be up for a little bit (i cant wait to see how it turned out!)
I thought it might be great fun to come on here though, now i've got my login and meet some of the members, as well as chat with my fellow models.
So, a little about myself:
I'm a university student in Australia, I live in Melbourne, which luckily for me is where Abby Winters is based. I'm originally a foreigner, though I wont say where, you guys will have to figure that out for yourselves (haha maybe from my video or something). I'm 170cm tall....oh, and I'm 19 years old.
My hobbies...I love music, dancing, going out with my friends, sunshine, being outdoors, rooftops, looking at the stars, tree climbing, and adventuring. Also reading, traveling, running, and swimming. I'm into electronic music mostly (euro, house, trance, electro), as well as mainstream stuff, folk music, foreign music...pretty much everything. And I really love to talk...probably do it too much...but i love it!
So thats me! Feel free to chat to me, ask me questions, etc, and of course I can't wait to meet more of my fellow models, such beautiful girls! :D
Cheers!

Hi Kara,
Welcome to the boards it's great to meet you, always good to see models posting on the forums. It's nice to get to know a little of the the gorgeous person we see on our screens. I think you'll find us a friendly crowd, models and members both, have a look round the threads, pop in to say hello to fellow models, join in discussions.
How did you find out about AW? I know they 've been doing a postering campaign recently.
Looking forward to seeing your shoot, have you any ideas on what other types of shoot you'd like to do?

Hi! Aww you all sound so lovely!
Tom, very nice to meet you, and same Gabriela, Immie, and Jenny Lee.
I did find out about AW via the posters in Melbourne, though I have also seen facebook ads leading to some of the 'fronts" of the company.
Thanks for the compliments on my avatar, though I didnt put it up, and I cant figure out how to change it. Does management decide what your avatar is? That's a pic from my first shoot (omg so much fun!). Oh and I am very bubbly, hehe!
Gabriela, I can't wait to to more shoots! In fact, I'm doing another one this week! I would love to do as much as I can, I mean, its so much fun! XD

True! I've seen those too! and I just look at them going "these contact details look familiar" haha... feels strange to see them because I never saw them (or the posters; I saw one the other day in the city) before I found out about AW, myself.

Hello Kara
Welcome to the boards... I'm sure you will enjoy your time here, that is if you enjoy lotz of people telling you how cute you look in your Avatar and how please you are here on the boards. And all this before your first pictures are posted on the site... then it will be crazy... all member just wanting to pamper you with compliments and chat with you.
I have not even mentioned the other models yet... hahaha... As you have already seen they are a very nice bunch that are very welcoming to their very exclusive club.
Anyhow... welcome again, I'm sure you will like it here. So are you going to give any clues about your origin or do we just have to wait for the video??
You say you like travelling? Where have you been (looking for any little hints)?

Hi Kara
Welcome to our world - its much better than that nasty real world out there!!
Its always nice to get to 'speak' to our friends like you before we get to see your shoots - it adds to the anticipation and I know I daydream for hours about what your shoot will reveal. In fact after a couple of months the anticipation can sometimes get too much and I for one can get a bit impatient to see just how your shoot went and I have to go and jump in the pool every couple of hours.
I hope we get to see more of you - if your planning another shoot hanging out of a tree is always a good basis for an outdoor shoot and I think you and Augustine would make a great g/g/ tier 3.
:D<3;)

Hi Kara,
Just wanted to say thanks for the hiking girls shoot, it's a beautiful, great fun shoot, an excellent debut. One of the quirks of scheduling means that we get to see you first in GG before your solos (to do with the number of shoots of each type) so am really looking forward them in the next few weeks. We've seen some 'teasers' on AW Today as pictures of the day.

Hi everyone! I'm sorry, i hadn't realised the forum didn't email notify me of each post on my thread, just of the inital one, so i missed all your lovely comments to me. So sorry!
So I'll work in reverse order....
Tom: thank you, the Hiking Girls shoot was amazing!! I had so much fun doing it, hehe. Oh and i watched the hiking girls video - i had no idea it would be so cool. it was so weird watching it and remembering shooting it, and though i think i look ridiculous and sound silly too, i know it was fun, and I do like how it turned out. I was surprised just how artistic and not 'porny' everything looks, which is nice ;)
Ooh and I love the more recent of my picture of the days..i'm in black stockings, right? That was from a new experiment shoot we did...i probably can't talk about it, and i have no idea when it will go up, but it was heaps of fun so i hope it goes up soon and we all get to enjoy it!
Ahh i dunno..i might change my profile pic...i do have some fun stuff i could put up. Ooh i should enter it into the photo contest :)
Daria, Juanita, gabriella lovely to meet you too! i do hope i see you around AW, i probably will, ive been in there 3 times just this week, hehe!
DarwinSteve and MrPinkEyes - thank you for saying hello too! Yup, i'm pretty new but im into it and having fun. And as for a T3 with Augastine, i'm looking her up right now, hehe. Aww, shes cute. I dont seem many pics of her but she might be new. Wow her Double IM looks so lonely...i mean they are both there, but in my DIM we were like cuddling and kissing and stuff...it seems more fun that way.
And lastly, i hadnt thought of posting pics, but maybe ill put one up. :)

Hi Kara,
Aye AW have some really talented photographers and videographers not to mention models and the other staff, the high quality of the shoots and the general ethos of the site are really big selling points.
Ah an experimental shoot , intriguing, can't wait to see the result:)

Daria: Mmm, yup, i can see your post.

I'm getting used to the celsius temperature scale since I've been back in Canada, but when the tv or radio announcer refers to millimeters, centimeters or meters, I have no freakin' clue as to the distance they are talking about...I'm completely lost. And when some AW models have mentioned how much they weigh, I also have no idea how big or small they are. It's like giberish to me.

Hello everyone! Sorry i haven't been around much...great apologies. My computer has actually died (laptop) and so i have had much less internet access, but luckily it is under warranty still so it will get fixed and shipped back to me!!!
I have done soo many shoots!! Last week i did a gorgeous shoot at the beach with two lovely girls...gorgeous coz of the weather and the location, of course. It was a T2 and we had a great time doing it, but it got verry steamy. I think we really wanted to take it to a T3...but alas we couldnt.
Luckily for me, i had two T3's this week!! A chance on on Tuesday, and then another Wednesday (today). I was with the lovely Carly T on Tuesday, and very experinced and sexy Keilyn today......and both were oh so much fun. One of my favorite parts was getting to use my tongue barbell on both girls...they seemed to enjoy it!! I cant wait for the shoots to go up soon....i think they will, right? they are T3's.
Jette - i cant wait for our shoot to go up...you were cute today, btw. i hope your IM went well!!
Katherine F - you are lovely - i hope you are having fun in thailand!
Daria - sorry, i miss you girl, i promise to try to be around more! Btw we totally need to meet in person. We live in the same city, right? Sometime we need to meet and hang out. Find me on FB or something and we can exchange numbers! xox
To the wonderful men out there - sorry i havent been around much, and thank you for the lovely compliments.....my boobs are definitely one of my favorite body parts..heheh. Im glad im a girl, yayay.
And Tom...wow, thanks for those links! Where do you find the more advance schedule of whats going up? The best ive seen is just the week long thing on the News page, but im not on there yet. My solo looks cool though i think i look sorta retarded...well hopefully everyone enjoys it...it was fun to film, hehe. Ah i was wearing the funniest clothes......
Yayy....i'lll try to chat with everyone heaps in the next few days!! Coz then im going off on a road trip with friends for chrissy... but everyone here is so awesome i just have to talk some!!
Hugs and kisses!
~Kara~
Ooh ps: Chloe B, can you please change my avatar pic? it is cute but i'd looveee a sexier pic, like something from the backstage photos...or even my photo of the day from the shoot i did with stockings on.....
i love you! I need to come visit soon!

Hi Kara,
Great to hear from you, ahh the horrors of busted computers you really feel that something is missing if the little beast isn't around, having no internet access doesn't bear thinking about:eek:
If you look on the right hand side of the mainpage about half way down, opposite AW Today, (you may have to scroll down) you'll see a group of pictures under the label Coming Attractions (most appropriate). This shows shoots for a few weeks ahead, the pictures change when the screen is refreshed so to see all thats coming up you'll have to repeatedly refresh your screen.
I put up a link to the Camper van preview on Jette's page and your DIM with Gemma on Gemma's page, both look great
Great new on your T3's. Yippeee lots to look forward to in the new year:)
take care

Hi Kara
Looks like you have been a very busy girl - lots and lots of vids for us to linger over in the next couple of weeks. I am getting rid of dial up and installing broadband tonight so my timing is impeccable as I want to see all of your shoots as soon as they appear. At the moment it takes 20+ hours to download any of the more recent vids.
Have a great time on your road trip and don't forget to take your camera with you - we always like to see some photos of your own at any opportunity either clothed or nude and seeing your going to the beach hopefully there will be plenty of opportunity for the latter.

Hi Kara,
Yes not long to go now before the first set of stills are up. I agree, the staff, backroom and photo/videographers do wonderful jobs, I can't praise then highly enough for bringing such high quality shoots to us. They do have lovely models to work with.
One of the lovely things about the more recent GG shoots is the extended backstage videos, they give and insight into and inkling of how well models and staff work together and interact, it's great to see.
Hehe it'll be great to see pics from the beach, when do you set off, the weekend?

Hey Kara,
I have been a member here for a while, but this is my first time posting. So take it easy on me as I am a virgin ;)
I have really enjoyed your shoots and videos. I especially like your smile and your boobs. I am really looking forward to the shower shoot and especially to the shoot with Keilyn. You two seem to have the same attitude towards doing the scenes and I think the chemistry will probably be amazing.
Your accent sounds like you are from the good Ole' US of A. Maybe midwestern (Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois) or maybe California? You have let the aussies' sing-song tones creep in a little bit. It's still very cute.
Hope to see a lot more of your work.

I absolutely agree with every word of that.
<3Kara<3, I'm a latecomer to your thread, but I've just been catching up with all your shoots, and have totally fallen under your spell.
Even before you undress, there's a bewitching sparkle in your eyes, and a delicious flirtatiousness in the way your mouth turns up at the corners, that combine to deliver an utterly heartmelting effect. And the transformation that pleasure brings to your face and to your lovely voice is one of the most erotically expressive things I've experienced in some five years as a member of this site.
In all your girl/girl shoots you make love with such joyous radiance, and with a loving generosity to your partners that adds a whole dimension of beauty to your loveliness.
Having belatedly discovered what a wonderful woman you are, will definitely make up for my culpable neglect of your thread.
Thanks you for sharing so much joy and loveliness with us.

Cheers!
Kara
I didnt know u could write in color!! :D wow how exciting i was dying for weeks for mine to go up!
Youll love it! You are quiet the cute one!! I cant wait to see ur shoot.
What level are u at babe? You sound like the fun one. Hope to get to know you ;)

Dear me i have neglected posting :(( I shall try to reply to everyone now though!
Carly: havent seen you since our shoot but i hope we run into each other at AW sometime, youre an amazing girl! :)
Tom: thank you for the many amazing comments and compliments, i'm so glad you enjoy AW so much, and im so glad there are men like you who appreciate natural beauty not 'porny' beauty, so that chicks like me can have amazing fun with companies like Abby!
Eladyland: i moved here from the US, yeah, from North Carolina, so my accent is a big mix up of American and some more Aussie or British sounding stuff. I hope it'll become Australian eventually (only been here a year), coz i love how the Aussies around me talk, but i'm a bit shit with accents so i figure it'll be just luck if it changes or not, haha!
Gemma: yeah our DIM was awesome! I'm sad we havent run into each other again at AW, we def shoudl catch up. how are you doing? Been doing more shoots? gotta love Abby :)
Chiefbrody, Silkenshadow, Daivd12, Frans, and Bookmanz, thank you all for the lovely compliments, i'm so glad you all enjoyed my various shoots! I have throughly enjoyed making every single one ( and not just coz of the lovely company and the orgasms, abby is just an amazing company to work with!!)
Takochan, thank you very much for the compliments on my personality. i think in normal life i come across as a bit too flirty, i always worried my parents, lol, because of that. luckily it works perfectly for abby, where i can be really flirty and show my sexual side without it being a bad thing. Im not sure about my ISM and IFM shoots, ive done several but i know they take ages to go up, as far as i know none are up yet :(
Jade: yes we should!! Do you do T3s now? We should ask HQ if we could maybe do one together!
Anabela: you sexy beast, we need to hang out again and partyyy. We should add each other on FB so we can catch up....how to do that though? haha
Joannie: Yea i love colours, so much fun :). I havent met you before but yea we should catch up! I do everything, mostly T3's now....how about you? maybe we should see if we could do a shoot together! would be hottt!
You are all so amazing! sorry for being such a lax poster...*bends over for smacks*
XOXO!

All the comments and compliments are richly deserved, it is you, your fellow models and the amazing talented staff both production and 'back office' that make AW so enjoyable. You all put so much into your shoots and they are of such quality that it makes commenting and choosing 'favourite' pictures such a pleasure.
I'm looking forward to your T3 with Maria, (the preview pics really whet one's appetite) and your DIM with Jade, I hope you didn't steam the camera up to much ;)

Thank you tom :)
Silkenshadow, no, i'm not originally from here, i moved from the states to Melbourne a year ago....hopefully my American accent isnt too strong though (i want to sound Aussie hehe!) For AW, i was just walking around the suburb i live when i saw one of AW's posters advertising for new models and thought it sounded interesting, so i called them up. Didnt realise how awesome it'd turn out, but very glad i did :)
Are you from the states? i think we were told at some point that the majority of AW subscribers come from the US, which i found found funny since i moved from there!

27th May 2009, 03:48 AM
Hi Kara,
How's things? Are you still studying and if it's not too personal what are you studying?
I do like your accent, to me it's American but with strong admixture of other elements, Aussie, British (English). Do your parents and friends back in North Carolina say you sound Aussie? That happens to me when I talk to Scottish friends, they say I sound English, the reverse happens when I return to London after spending time in Scotland, English friends feign not understanding saying I've gone feral!
Yippee your T3 stills with Maria are up today , alas they're the last on the schedule so won't be till the end of the day, but no matter they're imminent :)

Tom,
Yea i'm really good, busy with exams which is not so fun but i have some great stuff to look forward to after. My friends and i are going to a friends farmhouse in the country and throwing a big private dance party!
I'm studying Biology, probably going towards Zoology (though ive also been loving psychology), in my 2nd year of univeristy.
Yeah, i was born in Africa, grew up in the states, and then moved to Australia, and my parents are both European, so i'm a huge mix of different cultures. Has given me quite an accent. I didnt pick up the American accent till i was about 16, and now wish i hadnt (not that i could really have controlled that)...i'm glad some things i say still sound sort of English...i never learned to say dance (with a as in fancy), have always said it with the a like aunt...those sorts of little things i never lost.
My family and friends mostly talk to me online, so i honestly dont know what they think of my accent, would probably find it a bit less American that what they hear around them. I'm hoping it'll start changing a bit. My friends occasionally say i say some words aussie now haha!
Ahh i'm excited, cant wait to see how it turned out! I hope its awesome!
SilkenShadow,
Ah, the other side of the states! I think i would have enjoyed the west coast a lot more actually, i think it tends to be a lot more liberal, relaxed than the southeast, and the music scene is much improved. And the weather!
Well, its quite a story. Lets see, my parents had a few years ago thought about moving our whole family, so we had visas to move there. So when i was applying for university i applied in the US and in Australia. I got into every university i applied to....My parents were still planning to move, so there was the conundrum i could move ahead of them and start uni in australia, or start in the states and they'd move, and i'd stay. either way, i'd end up half way around the world from them.
I was actually going to stay in NC and go to UNC at first, partly coz itd be easier, partly coz of a boyfriend, prob partly a bit scared. I actually went to orientation week at UNC and really didnt like it at all, and pretty much decided then i wanted to go to australia. Also spent a lot of time researching the universities id applied to, on Facebook actually, haha, to get an idea of what life would be like. Pretty much right then i changed my mind and decided, fuck it, i want to take the chance and move there because it could be amazing and is such an awesome opportunity. I finished high school in june, by the end of june decided to go to australia, immediately accepted at a university in australia (had to manipulate my parents a bit so i could go to the one i like the most, in fun exciting Melbourne not boring Canberra) packed, booked flights....A month after graduation i was in Australia.
Its def the biggest and riskiest decision ive ever made: i'd never even been to melbourne or the university. I'm used to traveling, so it wasnt too difficult coming here, though i did have quickly adjust to being a lot more independent than most kids my age in the US have to be....had to find a place to rent, enrol myself, open a bank account, etc, and its a bit harder to rely on my parents much. The hard part though was that i didnt know a single person in Australia when i came here, and i came into uni middle of the year. I really had to throw myself into all the activities at my uni in order to meet people and make friends...luckily i turned out to be good at it though because i made a lot of amazing friends really quickly.
its also been the best decision i've ever made, though. I dont have a single regret (cept maybe not bringing my fav jacket with me haha), ive been so happy here. It has actually completely changed my life, who i am, probably even what i think about most things, but for the better. (except now i have no idea what i want to be....) I could do it again (move to a new country) but not sure id want to haha!
The abby winters posters had stylised picture of a girl, not that nice actually, and a phone number and website. I think they need better posters :) But yea i'm very happy i started working with abby.
What do i do? well i spend a lot of time at univeristy, both studying and also hanging out with friends, barbecues and parties on campus, the uni is very laid back and ive met a group of people who have lots of fun, drink a lot (lol but not in a bad way), do silly random stuff on our campus, pranks, lots of awesome activites, etc. Now i also have a group of friends who know each other from highschool that i met thru a uni mate, going out with one of them and then spend a lot of time out in the suburbs hanging out, driving, etc. I also love going out dancing, really into electronic music so most weekends im in the city. I listen to music, relax, have lots of hot sex, dance, cook, love sunshine, go to the parks a lot.....bike riding!
Yeah i hope i can do a shoot next week, would be fun (if cold!). Must call up and ask :))
Love to both of you! I've enjoyed talking about myself...you sort of learn about yourself when you have to dig down and think about something and then put it down into words. Thank you!

Hi Kara,
Aye, I know what you mean, it does make you think a bit when you have to do that probably more so when you have to say oops don't want to include that, a bit too much information.
A very fine accent indeed :) Hehe learning Aussie words, AW has proved very educational and also for Aussie food since joining I've tried Kangaroo, Vegemite, Milo, Tim Tams, we have an Aussie/Kiwi shop not too far away where Aussie 'delicacies' can be had and also a pub where they warn you to beware of drop bears;)
I was almost a biologist, I started a degree in Applied Biology and got through the first year at Uni when I decided I'd rather be a historian and changed and so here I am, a naval historian but still with an interest in science which oddly has proved useful on occasion. It had been a close decision when I left school, swayed by a crush on my biology teacher, ahh memories...
 exams, I like your plans for when they end. How much longer to go ?
As you say a very big risky decision, upping sticks and heading to a different continent to study but well worth it and you're enjoying it and by the sound of it have made some very good friends :)
Good Luck with all the exams.

Tom,
Ohh you've got some Aussie foods? thats awesome! I was used to vegimite, and milo which i loveeee!, when i came to Australia, but a lot of other things were new to me. I love tim-tams, esp when you suck tea or coffee through them and then eat them, they are sooo warm and tasty. Kangaroo is pretty good too, really healthy. Funnily enough there is an American food store near me, where i buy stride gum coz i dont know if i could live without it, its soo much better than australian chewie. I'm pretty satisfied otherwise with Australian foods though.
Oh wow! biologist to historian, thats quite a change! What made you change your mind and become a historian (perhaps other than your teacher no longer being around)?
I'm actually pretty stuck with what i want to do right now...i was always a good student in school, and used to want to become an astrophysicist and work with NASA, hoping to go into space one day. While i'm still fascinated with space and would give anything to be able to go, once i took physics i found how difficult and frankly shit high school and college physics classes are. The theory is pretty cool but what you ahve to do along the way is just ridiculous....measuring waves in springs, sliding things on frictionless tracks..its all mindless. I couldnt get through the classes necessary to become an astrophysicist.
So then i decided i wanted to do genetic engineering coz that has always fascinated me too, the processes in cells and genetics are truly amazing. Unfortunately once i started doing lab work, and a research project on genetics, i realised while again the theory is very interesting, what you do in practice is move tiny amounts of fluid and cells around in micropippettes....in some cases yeah you are going to eventually produce an organism but i cant stand that mindless work with miscroscopic stuff either!
That was when i decided i should do zoology because thats definitly working with much more macroscopic things and would hopefully be more intersting work. Id love a job as a zookeeper or an animal trainer or something...but im worried right now all i'll be able to do is get a degree, then have to do grad school...i really dont want to end up in a boring lab job.
Since i came to australia my friends introduced me to the music industry....these days i spend soo much time listening to and keeping up with the electronic music world, i go to a lot of clubs and music festivals, i'm getting to know some local djs and producers. I'm promoting a bit for a music company in my area, which gets me free tickets to some events......but having seen all this i feel like what i would love way more than science is to somehow get a job in the music industry. i doubt i could be a dj or something but i'd love nothing more to spend the rest of my life in around the music industry....but i have no idea how to achieve that.
I just want to find a job i would really enjoy, and could qualify, and be able to start working and be done studying, being a poor uni student, etc......pity i'm not hot enough to have a career in porn :(
OK so that went wayy off track but you talking about your career made me think about that. I've been stressing a lot latey about what i want to do....
Lets see, my first exam is the 9th and they go till the 23rd ...i have 5 total. hopefully wont be to hard, if i can make myself dig down and focus.
Where in the states do you live? and what do you do as a historian? do you work at a university or something else?

Silkenshadow,
You said 'this girl'...does that mean you are female? and thank you!
Yeah i'm so glad i found abby winters. Not only is at an amazing way to pay the bills, but also have met so many good people through the site!
Hmm uni shenanigans....one of my favourite things is this crazy week of debauchery that some of my friends organise and run every year....its totally student run, and focuses mostly around drinking and nakedness, as do most uni events. People from teams, sometimes for the faculty they study, sometimes groups of friends, etc, and you compete with your team.
There are a lot of activities during the week, such as a billy cart race where each team builds a wheeled vehicle and they race them around the campus, there is a nude olympics where you meet naked on the uni main lawn/quad at midnight, prob around 300 people (and there were at least 100 girls last year!) and play games and stuff, all in the nude! There is a scavenger hunt for which last year people took naked photos in malls, my friends and i broke into a drive in movie theatre at 4am and climbed a roof in order to take a photo....going clubbing dressed as knights...... There is a big triva night, a night of pub games, a grand celebration at the end where points are totalled up...oh and lecture stunts...interrupting huge first year lectures with nudie runs etc...one of my fav activities!! Basically every year 7 students chosen from top teams the previous year plan this out, somehow get uni funding, most people skip all their classes during the week for the events...its just an amazing bonding experince with likeminded friends!
the uni doesnt mind too much as long as we dont do anything too crazy. its much more laid back than american universities would be...u can drink on campus, they dont mind too much if you get naked, etc...
So yea that crazy week, thats my highjinx for today.

Hmm uni shenanigans....one of my favourite things is this crazy week of debauchery that some of my friends organise and run every year....its totally student run, and focuses mostly around drinking and nakedness, as do most uni events...
Goodness, Kara, things have changed since my distant days at Uni (although I guess nakedness comes a bit easier, with less risk of pneumonia, in Oz than in Scotland where I was at Uni). In my days the focus was drinking and women (well I guess the opposite sex to be more correct): the nakedness only came if the two worked well together (and then it had to be under a thick duvet in freezing student digs). Like Tomtom, I started off in biology, but I stayed there ~ and I even worked in a zoo for a while, so your ambitions are all possible if you stick with them.
I'm another fan of your shoots: it's so obvious that you are enjoying them, and having fun, not putting it on for the cameras ~ and that's what still makes AW (at its best) such an amazing place to be.

Hi Kara,
Aye it seems like big change while at school I couldn't really decide whether to follow an arts or science track sort of mirroring your trying to decide which branch of science to follow. I was fascinated by history and by science, my first love was astronomy I had, in fact still have a telescope, the beauty of the planets especially Saturn with it's rings suspended against the black of space. I still occasionally go out on a clear night and set up. Biology, however, claimed me I was fascinated by the complexities of living things as well as teacher;).
Fortunately by a quirk of the school timetable I was able to follow both history and science. What made me switch was a slow dawning that I was actually more interested in history specifically naval history, my father had been in the Royal Navy. So I changed track and have never regretted it.
Now I'm a naval historian. Although I have and occasionally still do lecture, either as a visiting lecturer at Uni's or at conferences, I'm not actually on the faculty of a University being more of a 'freelance'. I'm currently managing/directing a project looking at digitising records held in all sorts of archives, partly verifying what's there and what it is possible to digitise. Amazing what information is locked away that could be useful, like ships log books giving data on climate 200-300 years ago to help with the study of climate change. Part of the joy is never knowing what you might find, one my colleagues discovered some documents 'misfiled' 190 years ago that's led to a mystery involving feuds, secret lovers, courtesans, steamy sex, a battle nearly lost, and another mystery explained, a real soap opera. We've been able to set up an off shoot research project and she's going to be able to use it as her PhD thesis.
My main period of interest is the mid to late 1700's although I delve as back as the 1660's.
I'm not actually from the states but the UK, living in the outer Southwestern suburbs of London but I'm originally from the West Highlands of Scotland.
 enough about me, poor you!
Hehe, the Tim Tam slam, I was introduced to the delights of it via AW and Immie's partner Mr Immie who mentioned it in a post. An odd one is slicing a weetbix in half length ways to get a thin slice and then speading on Vegemite, that came from Cleo. It can be done, I've tried it, it seemed so bizarre it had to be tried!!!
I can understand stressing about what you want to do and wanting to be done with study but I'm sure you'll make the right decision for you, get the degree under your belt and then have a look at what takes your fancy. You do seem to be enjoying yourself and why the hell not, good on you.
As for not being hot enough, Tsk Tsk, you're more than hot!
I'm sure you'll be able to dig down and focus, once again good luck with them, fingers and all things crossable crossed for you.
take care

Wow am i jealous. Kara I am indeed a female and my sexual orientation leans toward lesbian, haven't been with a man in quite some time. I think I need to go back to school and go to OZ to do it. I am glad to see you posting here. I enjoy talking with the models and developing friendships with them. I know there are certain things that you can't share and/or some are more private than others. I do hope you have a wonderful weekend. I am off to go download the stills from your latest GG. I hope some go to DVD soon. Then you really will be a porn star giggles.

Hey Kara, I've been reading and enjoying your long posts about how you came to Australia. I am soooooooo jealous! I'd love to move there too, having visited 9 times. Awesome country over there. But how in the world did you have an "in" to live there? Immigration is so strict, almost impossible to get in. Maybe being accepted at uni was your "in"???
And I'm also jealous cos' you've eaten kangaroo. In all of the times I've been over there, I've never seen "roo" on any menu. Can't find it anywhere. Darn,....I'd love to try some.
Your AW shoots are amazing. I especially like the DIM's you're in. They are definitely my favourite type of shoots. Your new solo was awesome! Glad you saw that poster in your neighbourhood!:)

Breezer,
Aw haha that sounds awesome! Yeah at uni its mostly about drinking, though i'm friends with the engineering kids mostly and its a bunch of silly guys who yea just do silly stuff, the nudity mostly comes in from the drinking i think, youd almost think they were gay how they act but i like how relaxed and comfortable tehy are. and then there are a few girls in the friends group too who dont mind the craziness and such...i like the free parties and booze and silly pranks, reminds me of boarding school.
Mmm i want a think duvet!! I need to get one, since i got a queen bed i havent got a queen size duvet yet.
Oh wow, can you tell me about working in a zoo? what was it like, and how did you get the job? That'd be awesome! ive been meanign ot go to the local zoo and talk to some of the keepers.
Thank you also for the compliments! I do definitly enjoy them. Sometimes its hard to relax and act naturally, at least at first. Thats why its awesome when you click well with your partner, such as i felt i did with anabela and maria, coz then that part comes natrually and its a lot easier to forget about the cameras. I love the work though!

Ahh thats so awesome! you are the first member i've met who i've known is female then! I suppose the setup of the site would probably appeal as much or more to women who like other women as men, being as its all girl girl! Glad you enjoy it! I do actually like girls i real life too..they are so much more beautiful and wonderful then men, and as a girl you understand the other girls better too.
Yeah, i guess cant talk about our real names or too revealing info about where we live, what we do etc...at the same time though its sorta cool to have that atmosphere of mystique around myself!
Enjoy the stills! I love how they truned out. have a good weekend to! i'm relaxing at my friends, yay!
Awww that'd be awesome...hehe.

I went out with some friends to the pub last night, and then went back to someones house where we actually played around with awesome music, and then put out the lights and played wiht glowsticks and LED lights for ages in the dark....i think we appreciate those more now than when i was a child. I lvoe my friends, we are a bit strange but share awesome intrests. Now i'm staying at my friends and will prob watch a movie tonight. Tomorrow i'm meeting my cousin whos visiting melbourne for dinner. :) Shoudl be a good weekend.

Laktor,
Thank you! i enjoyed writing about myself actually, hehe, i should save those posts to my computer too, i write and keep occasional journal type posts when im in an introspective mood, would be a good addition to that.
Wow 9 times! You shoudl live here! Traveling is soo expensive but if you could get a visa ( i dunno what you have to do to get one) and live here that'd be awesome. So far i've found ti an amazing place to live.
Well see i was lucky in that. We already have some relatives, my god parents esp in Australia, so my family, my mum dad sister and i decided we should move there from America (my parents werent that happy living in america.) So they applied to immigrate a few years ago, my mum is a nurse and my dad is a computer scientist, there is a nursing shortage so my mum was a desirable profession to have move to Aus, so we got immigration easily, just coz they want more nurses. My family hasnt moved yet but are planning to this year. I dont think i was supposed to come by myself, haha, but i have the visa in my passport so it was fine me coming in. And yea we all have Permanent Resident visas. in a few years ill have citizenship. to move by yourself is really hard though, you have to have a certain profession that they want. There is some sort of points system where you are awarded points based on your age, skills, education etc, if you have enough points you can get immigration. Check it up online to see if you coudl qualify. Hopefully!
Roo is looked down on actually, the only place to find it (cept maybe tourist places) is in the grocery store, its the cheap meat poor students like myself by. Youd just need to go to the grocery store here. Its like 'kangka saussages' or whatever haha! I hope you can find some!
Thank you! I havent watched my DIMs actually, i should! I need to watch the whole DVD i got. I love the close interaction in dims without it beings totally sexual like in T3s.
Thank you!

Hi Kara,
Hehe, I agree about the LED's and glow sticks and lots of other things, like blowing bubbles, that stuff you get in little bottles with the ring on the stick, ohh and water pistols. It does sound like you're having a good weekend :) and it's great having really good friends to enjoy it with. Friends my partner and made while at Uni are still the core of our friends today, hmm, reading what I wrote earlier we either, didn't grow up or are regressing;) I wonder if I can find some bubbly stuff when we're out? If not some soapy water will do ;)
I heard this the other day
A Mathematician, a Biologist and a Physicist are sitting in a street café watching people going in and coming out of the house on the other side of the street.
First they see two people going into the house. A little later they see three people coming out of the house.
The Physicist says: "The initial measurement wasn't accurate."
The Biologist concludes: "They have reproduced."
The Mathematician says: "Now if another person enters the house, it'll be empty again."
and
Q: What kind of aftershave do male geneticists wear?
A: Eau de clone.
sorry :o
The weather's lovely here, warm and sunny, nothing planned other than to go for long walks through nearby parks and woodland stopping off at a few 'watering' holes and possibly by a strange coincidence meeting some friends and then maybe a BBQ in the evening.
have fun

Oh wow, can you tell me about working in a zoo? what was it like, and how did you get the job? That'd be awesome! ive been meanign ot go to the local zoo and talk to some of the keepers.
Kara, it's a bit difficult to tell you much more here, because I need to keep a bit of mystique about my identity too! But basically, I trained as a teacher, and worked with the education department of one of the better British zoos. We had some animals that we used in teaching, so we were responsible for looking after them, so there was a bit of zoo keeping in it, but not a huge amount. We did work with the keepers, though, and got to know a lot of the individual animals quite well (one perk was going to photograph newly-born animals before they were on display to the public, which was always magical).
There's often quite a high turnover in junior keepers in zoos (because the pay is usually terrible), so, if you are seriously interested, do go to the local zoo and chat to some of the keepers for advice. Some zoos have a system of "docents" who go in at weekends and help the keepers with some of the jobs, like preparing the food for the animals and helping with the feeding. Another way in that some of my friends used, was to get a weekend job (again poorly paid) in one of the shops or catering outlets, which got you into the zoo and into the know ~ then, once you were known, you were in the frontline to make a swap across to the animal maintence operatives division (or keepers to you and me). [The other way in, of course, is to have a good zoology degree: you'd be surprised how many zoo keepers these days are truly professionals, with a scientific interest in their work].
Hope that's some help.
Any more AW shoots coming up, Kara????

Kara, It has been so interesting to learn more about you. You are as smart as you are sexy and fun!
Hey, I hope you keep your interest in science. I know a lot of that basic stuff can seem pretty mundane, but you know, as Darwin famously said it, "...from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful"
I always loved science too, but I changed my studies focus from science to business because it seemed more sensible at the time and money prospects were better (in the short run). Lately, I've been regretting that I changed tracks. I have friends and family that are geologists and chemists. I'll get off my pro-science soapbox now.:)
I think AW members should be patting themselves on the back that they are subscribing to the site these days. Kara D is doing shoots and talking to us on the forums. It really is the best of times.:)
Kara, have fun with all your friends and your Uni hijinks!

Hey Sexy Kara looks like you have developed quite a following. I am sure a big fan. Perhaps we should start a fan club?? Can I be the president?? I am glad I am the first female member you know. It does truly appeal to me and not just because of the girl girl shoots. I totally respect what AW has built around lettign the ladies enjoy and do what the want the way they want. It truly comes out in their shoots. Some are chatty while others are steamy, like yours dearest Kara. By the way I do love the stagename they came up for you. It reminds me of supergirl, whose real name was Kara, but way more sexier. If you ever want to come visit my end of Cali let me know, it is gorgeous and much less congested than LA. I hope you have an awesome weekend and that Uni is going well, again so jealous of you there. Just wanted to drop a quick note to you. Don't stop posting!! Hi Kara,
How did your weekend turn out, enjoy dinner with your cousin?
Mine went largely as I thought it might, ended with us all sitting, chillin', round a fire after cavorting round it blowing bubbles, I think I mentioned something about regressing ;) I would add rapidly to that:p
For some reason I've been thinking on biology related themes:-
"Did you hear about the famous microbiologist who travelled to thirty different countries and learned to speak six languages? He was a man of many cultures".
That'll be the last, I promise (ish);)
Yippeee!!! we have your 'bathtime' DIM with Jade to look forward to later today :) You mentioned that you might be shooting another T3 this week or next, I must have a wee bet with myself over possible partners for you, I'll award myself a little treat if I'm right, the big treat is another Kara T3!!

It is nice to have a fellow American girl to call my friend in these forums. As for your GG DVD debut, I don't know how I could forget about this DVD. I am definitely planning on buying it. I wish I could get your autograph on it but that would prove to be a lengthy process. Have you gotten copies of DVDs you are in?? You truly are AW's superstar. Tom,
The period of time you study sounds like it’d be really interesting and awesome…I guess naval historian initially makes me think of studying sorta 1900’s, world wars etc…but that era makes me think of swashbuckling pirates and explorers and stuff hehe! Sounds like you find some interesting things out too!
Haha I love the mathematician/biologist/physicst joke! I think id go with the biologist hehe, that’s the most fun…one we had in school was along the lines of:
Physicists do it till it hertz,
Chemists do it periodically, on the table,
Biologists do it with every living thing,
Geologists do it eruptivly and smoke afterwards,
Astronomers do it all night long…
Etc….there are so many combinations hehe!
Oh and the old geeky pickups, Baby, I wish I were your derivative, so I could lie tangent to all your curves!
And yay for the UK! I would live to live there at some point, sounds like a deary but really intresting place to live…lots of stuff going on, intresting people, and I love the culture coz my dad is british. Love my tea etc. I guess Australia is similar though..
Wow I’ve never heard of that wheetbix thing…I sort of want to try except it sounds messy and I don’t have wheetbix right now. Sometime though. What does it taste like?
Haha the glowsticks thing is mostly coz my friends are a bit of a bunch of ravers, just like our glowy things, but I do agree that as you get older you appreciate ‘kids’ toys soo much more! Bubbles! That’s something I need to do again soon!! I love play fighting/wrestling too…bad thing is as you get older and stronger you bounce less and get hurt more! Haha
Sounds like you had an awesome weekend! Im glad you found some bubbles! Its getting really chilly here so cavorting in parks isn’t quite so nice, though I did go for a hike on Sunday which was nice. Also went to the gym with my friend, soo sore now but was good! I need to work out more…used to be a runner and got out of the habit when I moved here and didn’t have my cross country team to practice with. I should dance more.
Oh I also got to meet up with my cousin who Ive recently come to know i have / am related to, who lives in Australia too. He came to visit Melbourne and we went out and got coffee and cheesecake yesterday evening.
Now though i am indeed down to study...ive drawn up a study plan (very unusual for me!) and hopefully really WILL end up studying some tonight.
AHh i hope so! i told abby my exam days so hopefully they'll book me a shoot in the times i am free between those!

Frans,
OMG i had no idea my shoots were out on other DVDs too..the only one i've seen up till now was the IM dvd.....lol i was blown away by you posting those covers!! Then when i googled Kara D and porn and found i'm listed as an artist on some adult dvd sites...i definitly NEVER expected that! Wow...those dvds look so awesome, and to have my shoot with keilyn published along side the epic threesome of chloe, larissa, and kiki.....i dunno, i really dont see how any of my shoots are nearly that good!! I feel so honored to have my shoots published like that.... I never expected this to be something i'd be good at, since i decided to do it on a whim!
Thank you for showing me that though...wow!
Silken, thank you also for dedicating your 3000th post to me...aww :) looks like i have lott of posting to do to catch up!! Also, on my state name, I do like it now, though the first thing i thought hearing it was that it made me think of my younger cousin, whos real name is Cara....i dont know her well but it was weird associating that. However i think i've long since come to like it! Except when my uni friends come up to me saying, hey Kara D.....sometimes they get slaps for that haha! I hope you enjoy the dvd! I suppose ill probably get a copy when i next go by AW Headquarters!
Breezer,
Understandable that you cant say too much about yourself either...and its much more intersting for me i'm sure to be guessing stuff about you too! To be honest i didnt relealize meeting memebers online woudl be nearly so fun or intersting, i suppose as abby is an unusual and awesome porn site, the members are to be expected to be also unusual and awesome too!
I have looked into working at our local zoo, which is actually very close to my uni and my house, but they have uni and secondary school students do volunteer stints for classes and degrees, and have paid keepers, not much space for just interested people. I like the idea of working in the zoo but not 'in' the zoo, although i've been a bit bad about keeping weekend jobs...i love my free time too much! i should still look into it though. I'm definitly planning a tirp to go talk to the keepers there though! Sounds like you had a really great way to see the insides of the zoo without actually being a keeper!
I do hope to do some more shoots soon! Waiting to hear back from abby on that. It will be interesting to see who else i'm paired with!!
Bookmanz,
thank you for the advice...its so hard to judge what will be best for myself in teh long run so its nice to be able to talk to people who went through those decisions. My parents are no help alas, did totally different studies.
Thank you again everyone..i'm so blown away by all this!!

Hi Kara,
Aye it's fascinating period to study, lots of swashbuckling, dashing young frigate captains. The superstars of their day. Then the explorers like Captain Cook setting sail in their little ships and finding strange new lands like Australia and thereby setting the stage many generations removed for AW. Yippeee!!! I've managed to link AW and Naval History;)
Hehe, I like all the combinations and especially that pick up line ;)
Ahh yes when were out we spotted a toy shop and joy of joys they had some in those little bottles with the ring on a stick attached to the lid. I think we pretty well cleared their stock, it's probably just as well we forgot about the water pistols, otherwise we'd have been chasing each other round the garden. Hmm, if the weather is still good maybe next weekend;)
The weetbix, yes very messy but I was surprised that I managed it after only three attempts, the trick I think is a sharp knife and a sense of the bizarre, ohh and an indulgent if somewhat bemused partner!!! As for taste, very dry and Vegemitey.
Fingers crossed that AW will be able to fit in a shoot in the 'free' days, see if I win my bet with myself;)
Best of luck in getting down to study.

Mrpinkeyes,
Hmm....that is really difficult! I think campervan girls is one of my favourites, it was so spontaneous and fun! I think my T3 with Keilyn was my hottest looking T3, but my T3 with Anabela i think had the most real chemistry behind it. I've never liked my solo shoots as much because its so much more fun and interesting to do a shoot with another model.
Tom,
Ah nice one! It sure would be fun to do a shoot set in the 1800s or something, though no idea how you'd pull that off....
i'm still jealous of your summer weather! Do waterballons along with water pistols, or if you are really daring, wear messy clothes and add in paint. Back at boarding school we'd get finger paints and have truly ridiculous paint
fights! Here let me find a photo....
Im really wondering what your bet is.....i suppose you probably understand how AW plans stuff out a lot better than us models would though! I look forward to my next shoot whatever it is!
Here is a photo of me from the paint fight, and one of me blowing bubbles! yayy

I decided i needed more photos so here are two other sexy pics of me, from Halloween last year, one of the most life changing nights of my life....long story there for later.
I was a schoolgirl or possibly britney spears, as a school girl (i was told i looked like that.) you decide.
19079
And then one from a party i went to on the day of the Melbourne cup, which is a really big horse race here. Girls dress in nice frocks and silly little hats and go to the races. I went to a party at a friends house instead, but we still dressed up for laughs. Then we went to the supermarket (in our fancy clothes, rather drunk), bought food, and had a bbq!

haha... one vote for school girl britney....
I get the feeling you may not have won the the paint fight...as you seemed to be wearing a rather lot of paint... and I may be wrong but I thought the idea was not to wear quite that much paint... not if you win anyway.
Cant wait for the later date when we hear the halloween "life changing" story, if you choose happy to share.
Thanks for the pics

Well see we all ended up covered in paint because part of the fun was in seeing just how messy you'd end up. someone did target me excessively with the red paint though, especially my hair! My shirt is tie dyed already though, so its already really multi coloured.

Silken - tired actually, coz i always stay up too late (4am now) and then regert it later....pity im so addicted to facebook, downloading music, and such. Going to bed under my warm electric blanket now!
I think i would enjoy doing another t2 since i've done a lot of t3s....esp with other t3 models...i think they would be very hot shoots because we're used to doing more but have to restrain ourselves...but we'd have the passion and energy we are used to having in t3 shoots so it'd prob be quite exciting :)
Yusanord, thank you! Haha i suppose maybe i look best when im not posing or wearing makeup..which is the same concept that makes abby so awesome. Thats also my hair with mousse in it to make it wavy. I have done one shoot for abby like that, but it hasnt gone up..was an experimental shoot. Hope ill see it soon though!

Thanks for the pictures, Gorgeous, I love the one with you blowing bubbles :) Hehe waterballons, paint, all these ideas you're putting into my head, even a picture to go with the paint YAY!!!
Ohh my bet as to possible T3 partners for your next shoot, I have a couple of lovely ladies in mind :) Mmm an historical setting for a shoot, perhaps 'playing' around in a theatrical costumers trying on dresses, wigs and of course taking off same maybe a T2.
take care

My first ISM was 'sunshine' i think, but since then i've used Kara D coz i like it hehe. Im actually not sure if i have any shoots up....have never been able to find any thus far. Might still be processing. But ive done two ISMs, two IFM, and a beautiful agony. Havent done anything for Girls out west yet though....would like to though.
Oh i looked it up! I only have a beautiful agony up so far, but it is here!! Its number 1410 (listed here: http://www.beautifulagony.com/public/main.php?offset=80)
If you want to go see it, anyone, here is my promo code: http://beautifulagony.com/fdbpromo/63603903Check it out!
Yay i actually didnt know that, so thats exciting.
Today i'm good! stayed up too late but thats okay. Studying some then going to dinner at my cousin's which should be an adventure hehe! Its rainy though which is not cool :(
How are you doing?

Thanks for the details and promo code:)
Aye, I noticed that you mentioned 4:00am in one of your posts and dinner out, it'll be nice after studying all day.
The weather is still lovely here, alas I've got to do some work to do but one of the benefits of working from home means that I can go for walk later to make the most of it, living in the UK you've got to grab the chances! Might buy some balloons when I'm out;)

Ahhh thats two votes for wavy hair. I suppose i should def wear it like that in my next shoot then, rather than straightening it. Also would be good coz i fried my straightener. Its just annoying coz my hair goes crazy bushy if left completely to its own devices....
Tom, i hope you got some balloons...i would love to meet you in person, i dont know many adult people (well other than young adults my age) who actually still have fun! it is awesome!
Also...i have a shoot booked!!! Thurs the 18th and possibly one earlier. yayyy!!! I'm pumped!
I had a fun dinner at my cousins, kebabs and some sort of sausage thing, and mashed potatoes and custard! Then i came home, was not very productive...lol.
Buttt to set my sleep schedule straight im being responsible (slightly) by going to bed now, around 1am, so i can wake up at a reasonable hour. or thats the plan, anyway....hahahah.
<3 you all!!!
tom2c7777
3rd June 2009, 04:10 AM
Hi Kara,
How are you today, did you wake at a 'reasonable' hour?
Aye, I went into the same toyshop, the shopkeeper asked if the kids and enjoyed the bubbles I said "Oh yes we had", got a slightly odd look. I then bought some balloons and some water pistols:). Now I must confess that later in the evening my partner and I spent a happy few minutes chasing round the garden squirting water at each other :o It was much to the amusement of our puppy and the consternation nay outrage of our two cats who were rudely woken from slumbers in the evening sun by such unseemly behaviour.
Thanks for what you wrote about fun, I suppose we have an irreverent why not attitude as do our friends to some degree or other. It helps that we've known most of the core group of friends since Uni. We may be a little like this, certainly the last verse, after all practice makes perfect!!
WHEN I AM AN OLD WOMAN I SHALL WEAR PURPLE
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

YAY!! for more shoots 19126

Tom,
Yes, i got up around 11:30, not too bad! Hopefully can repeat that tomorrow morning. I did stay up reading a bit, finished a book i borrowed from my friend, A Change Of Heart by Jodie Picouli...def not my usual type of book but really enjoyed it!!
Today has been an amazing day, even tho i didnt do very much and it was cold and rainy..i was just in a good mood. I made crepes, danced for a bit, and even got some study done! Also made a pact with a friend to go out and buy fuzzy bathrobes....a necessary wardrobe staple that i dont have yet.
I loved the poem....so true! But its so good that you can have fun and be relaxed around your group of friends. I'm trying to enjoy being crazy while im young, but i hope i dont grow up too much....hopefully i can keep friends and a job that'll let me stay young!
Ftmaster,
Thanks you....it ended up being perhaps sexier than i wanted, the only reason i could romp around downtown melbourne that day looking like that was coz it was Halloween. But i had so much fun!
Going to bed now..i wish everyone a great night!
PS: i'm wondering how i would look if i dyed my hair a few shades lighter blonde? it used to be and has darkened a bit with age. Comments?

That's 'cos they set it up fairly confusing :) What the link you clicked by now does is set a cookie (hidden thingie).
Once that's done it returns you to the mainpage, where you were prolly expecting to end up on a join page with a discount-code pre-filled in right? You will NOT see the discount confirmed on the actual join page, only the price is lower, but since you don't know the full-price that doesn't help you :) (30-day should be $13.45 with the discount).

Hi Kara,
Did you manage to emerge into the harsh light of day at the sameish time today?
Ahh fuzzy bathrobes I agree an essential item :)
Hopefully you can, from what you've written you're off to a good start and have good friends just keep a watch out for becoming to 'respectable' and do something silly ;) I'm corrupting the youth of Australia:p It does have some drawbacks though, I've been getting dark looks from the cats for having had the temerity to disturb their after dinner nap in the sun.

Hello mrpinkeys!
I'm actually really good with technology, i could photoshop my hair myself.....hmm that is a good idea...
The promo code unfortunatly doesnt let you see my shoot there or anything, what it does is if you sign up it gets you a cheaper subscription :( I'm not really asking anyone to join beautiful agony, but if you wanted to use that :) I actually havent seen that full shoot either, i can just see the preview image..oh well.
Here lets see how this looks...i just 'lightened' my hair area a bit... This is the most recent picture i have of my hair coz i got it cut recently... i lightened it two different levels...
so what does everyone think?

Jimmy: thank you very much! i do love crepes mmmmmm. So easy. Often at house parties ill find a way to crash and stay over, so i dont have to get a late train home, and in return make myself and my hungover friends crepes in the morning coz they are so easy and so few ingredients :) YYaaay i have your cherry!<3
Tom, thank you! Yup i got up about noon, so not too bad. Got a busy busy day, going the dr, getting a ticket for a music thing, and maybe going shopping...shoudl be good though. Hmm i must get some study done between though!
Also cats are amazing..i have 3 at home :))

I'd go with the original everytime: why try to improve on perfection??? PhotoShop is for removing blemishes, and I can't see a single one to be removed.
And as for Katy's cool friend KaraZorEl, I think it's about time she "came out" from behind the shadows (no pun intended) and said hello properly. We've got at least one other brave lady member here who is a very good sport, and I think we need another one.

Hi Kara,
How's your weekend gone, was the 'music thing' this weekend ?
Alas no frolics this weekend, a lot cooler and damper, in fact a thundewrstorm ahs just passed through deep rumbles, lightning flashes, drumming rain. At least our tomcar is happy, he like to get wet and then come indoors to dried with a hair dryer, a strange mad creature. So this weekend so far and probably today as well has been spent curled up with books and wine:)

Hello everyone!
I've been at my friends for the past few days, so i havent been online toooo much. Studying on thursday, then a bunch of chores in the city, and then went to my friends house for dinner (she cooked us delicous chicken burgers :) ) and hanging out....
ooh on thursday i also randomly saw and bought this pink fishnet type shirt, my friend has a yellow one and its amazzzing, so i wanted to get one forever. I saw one in a store window and HAD to buy it :P The shirt looks something like this " http://www.vivafiesta.com.au/images/featureFishnetTopWhite2.jpg" but is pink, and its more fitted/shirt looking....ill take a sexy picture of myself and post it up later :P
Friday i went hiking in some nearby mountains, had a good time but sooo exhausted after. Chilled at another friends house.
Saturday went to the gym then biking, then biked to another friends house, where we relaxed, watched the footy, had a few drinks etc, went on a late night walking excursion to maccas (mcdonalds...tut tut..tho it was tasty.) and then biked home. SOOOO exhausted by the end!! Just passed out.
Today went to the gym with some friends again, (still at my friends house haha) and we're now relaxing. Some of our friends are going to a big music festival but we decided not to so are keeping each other company.
Silken: glad you are back! :) Ahh facebook i am addicted to for sharing photos and keeping up with friends who i dont see often. I have friends who barely use it because they dont know many other people with it, so its only useful to you if you have friends on it... I got a twitter, but i dont like it much....for one thing, i dont have a phone with web access so i cant update it anytime, and also i'm not a celebrity or anything so people dont really care what i'm doing in my every day life, nor do i care much about posting it.
Breezer: Aww thank you! though photoshop can sometimes be useful for adding funny things to photos too! Thanks for explaning what the thing about katy was.
Katy: hello and its lovely to meet you! hopefully i might see you around AW sometime soon!
Tom: thankyou, yes i did, and awww i love kitties! we had a siamese and two moggies too at home....one was amazing the other reallly grumpy hahah.
Bookmanz and Blair, Thank you!!
Mr pinkeyes; thank you, yeah i dont think id want to go tooo light..maybe i should wait and lighten it in the summer.

Look forward to the shirt picture:) the ones on the website looked fantastic.

Wow, Kara, what a frenetic weekend: I'm exhausted just reading about it! Even although it's theoretically summer here, it's been cold this weekend, and the freezing line was supposed to be 3,500 feet yesterday ~ which was my excuse for not going hillwalking (or at least for not feeling guilty that I wasn't out hillwalking).
Hey, it sounds like that Silky lady was dropping hints... Maybe you should look her up... (We won't tell).

I have yet to view your DIM. A bad girl I know *sticks out my bum to you* I have had a very restful weekend but am due back at work this afternoon. Next weekend I have plans though, hopefully doing some hiking myself at a nearby park and then going to Monterey to visit the world famous aquarium, been ages since I have been there. They used to have a penguin exhibit and hope they still do. I love penguins, I even have a penguin tattoo. Anywho, thanks for the reply and it is ALWAYS good to hear from you. Tom, aww thank you so much for the flowers!! That's so sweet of you to remember...i'm touched.
My kittes: one moggy who's supposedly half siamese but is so mean grumpy and skittish, always has been. its like there was an angry old lady in a cute cat's body. Then we have one who is pure siamese, really sweet and laid back, will come sit with you...hes amazzing. And then we have one who is moggy too, black with lovely yellow eyes. his mother was a stray who adopted us and she gave birth to kittens, and we kept one, him. Hes really friendly and active, just doenst like being picked up...but hes always around us which is nice. Aw wi miss my cats.
Sorry i didn't post yesterday, was studying lots (and then couldnt fall asleep alas).
But i had my exam today, Biology of Cells and Organisms, which went okay..i know i definitly passed it but not sure how well i'll do. Hard to work up the motivation to really study thoroughly coz its a boring class. 1 down, 4 to go!!
So besides studying, i have been freeezing cold! My house doenst have central heating or a/c but its not normally tooo bad. BUt its been raining non stop for several days and down to 7 degrees or so (i think thats about mid 40s F) alas! I"m huddled in two jumpers underneath my doona with my electric blanket. I actually thought i might be getting sick because i felt so cold, wondered if i was coz i was getting a fever but nope i'm fine....its just really that cold! i promise to stay warm though and not freeze coz then i wouldnt be able to talk to all of you!
Tango: About the footy, sorry! I should have said, i watched Richmond vs Western Bulldogs on Friday, and the Bulldogs won by a bunch though it was a really good game. Saturday was Carlton vs Brisbane Lions and Carlton won (aww we were rooting for the Lions though so that was a bit sad). THe more i watch aussie foot ball the more interesting i find it, which is good coz i've never enjoyed watching sport on TV so it'd be good to enjoy it. Also coz my friends like to watch it now and then that way ill enjoy it too when we're hanging out!
Silken, 27 is not that old! I have uni friends that age :) You should defnitly get one if you can! though i found a better picture of the one i have, here http://www.hushmoon.co.uk/images/catalog/4309_1cr-1.jpg. Mines a lot like that. I'm going out tonight so when i do my hair ill take a photo with it :)
Did you go ot the aquarium? How was it? pengins are amazing creatures...like fish and birds at once. Though it'd be sooo cold being one! i think i dislike the cold too much. Where is your tattoo, btw, if its ok me asking?
And its ok i just looked at my DIM today now too..i did enjoy it though! jade is awesome!

Hi Kara.
Pleased that exam went OK and that your confident you've passed is hopefully a good precursor for getting high marks.
No need to apologise for not posting, studying must be your priority. When is your next one?
I like the image of "an angry old lady in a cute cat's body". Our female is small but feisty, the tom is mad but placid, she's definatly the boss cat :) (hmm I think boss cat was a cartoon from my childhood, must have a look:p)
Aww poor you all huddled up in layers of clothing under the doona, alas it's cool and damp here:( but here's some virtual warmth

So i just shaved my legs coz i might have a shoot tomorrow.....gong in as standby hopefully will shoot tho. Its sooo cold! i hope i didnt get pnemonia shivering naked in the shower...coz i didnt want to use up all the water before i finished my shower....anyways. im warm now.
Tom, my next exam is next monday....zoology practical, then psychology the day after.
So i have an idea.....a game perhaps.
You should all ask me a few questions each..can be anything, no matter how crazy, and i'll try to answer them to the best of my abilities so long as its not something that would require me to say something im not allowed to, like my real name or something personal about another model, etc. I think this would be fun and would stimulate my brain in a non academic way!
Ok i have to go sleep so i wont look all baggy eyed tomorrow!!
Love you all!

ok wow this is weird..im logged into the forum and can post but i cant see my own picture coz i'm not logged in as a member? Lol!!
You need to be logged into the AW site (not nessecarily the forum) to see the pictures. If you get the 'picture restricted to members' thing go to mainpage (http://www.abbywinters.com/main.php?page=home) and check you are logged into the main AW site itself.

Howdy from Texas. You do a great job representing the USA in OZ. I'm proud of you. Here's a question: Do you prefer giving or receiving oral with another woman?
No. 2: Have you found that playing with your own or another girl's nipples helps to orgasm?

Wow!! what a lovely picture, that is a stunning shirt adorning a stunning Kara, certainly brightens and warms up a dull morning. Thank you:)
Hehe like your game.
Hehe Breezer beat me to a starter for ten (a phrase from this quiz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_Challenge )
Do you prefer long or short haired women and men ?
On men is facial hair, beard, moustache, maybe even 'designer' stubble a turn on/off ?
A bit different
What is the book that has had the biggest impact on on you, other than biology text books or one falling from a shelf;)?
What happened at the Promo meeting the other night?;)

Breezer,
Alas both models turned up and all, so no shoot for me today. But they were lovely girls, hadn't met either before and had a good time chatting! Haha i'm glad you enjoyed the shirt and the picture title...just made up some name quickly when i resized it to upload hahah.
Sexiest experince..ok, well a few months ago,i went to this crazy music festival called rainbow serpent. 4 days 24/7 crazy music banging. You are camping, and its hot and dusty, so by the last morning, we were soo dirty. Well my good male friend, who i think i started to fall for and he started to fall for me at this festival, and i jumped the fence of the campsite and went for a walk over a hill with a bucket of water....ended up in the middle of a huge empty grassy field on teh far side of the hill, beautiful country side surrounding us, in the middle of the day, with the sun glaring down. We stripped off and helped each other kinda sponge wash off (no showers there haha) and then ended up just having sex there in the grass.....probably the most open place ive ever had sex..but it was amazing and i found it sexy for how different and free it was. lots of fun!
Hahah for our second question, becaues a lot of ppl's heads would explode!
Frontfoot,
Yayy australia :P Yea how shit is the weather here right now? :(
luckily i didnt end up shooting, but i think they would only do winter shoots in relatively heated houses, or i hope haha!
I do...though i was more laughing at the fact, i knew how to remedy teh situation. just hadnt been logged into only the forums before to see that happen.
Hmmm see i dont know if they can win...that would probably help them of course. I think they should rewatch all of the saints games and see how they should be playing footy!
Thank you silken! i want to see your tattoos sometime :P<3
Frans, thank you, was able to remedy the problem. found it amusing :P
Howdie aggie! Aww thank you! though i'm wondering how soon i will start to pick up australianisms...so i can go back and surprise my american friends hehe. I've honestly never enjoyed oral thattt much...i much prefer being fingered because it feels soo much better to me. So, i think i probably prefer giving oral and seeing the other girl go crazy! Sometimes it does...i like my nipples pnched or nibbled such that it hurts a bit. I find clit stimulation is normally key to orgasm though. complicated clits...tut tut. hehe.
Bookmanz: thank you!! I'm trying to stay warm defintily, as i study haha!
Tom, thank you! mm i do love the shirt, i'm not a girly girl really but i do like pink sometimes coz it suits me i think (or i hope? haha)
I prefer short hair in general on men, though if a guy can pull of long hair (johnny dep!!) then by all means they should do it. I dont really like long curly hair coz it looks messy easily. And a guy should know how to style and care for his hair if its long...but if they can why not! On women, it totally depends on what suits them. my hair doesnt grow out very well and i much prefer it short, but some girls are soo beautiful with long hair. i wish i had long hair sometimes..some chicks can pull of really short her so well though, esp if they have a good face/facial features and i think that can look hotter than long tresses. Short hair means you generally see the rest of the person more, i think, while long hair can sometimes be overwhelming to someone, esp if its just all over the place.
I always thought it would be to me, but it hasnt proved to be so. I dont think i like a full beard but i love it when guys do crazy things with their hair and facial hair, so long as it doesnt look ugly or creepy or isnt really scratchy it doesnt bother me.
Hmm....i loveeed the harry potter series for a really long time...but that didnt impact me very much..was more fun. Entering Space: Creating a Spacefaring Civilizationk by Robert Zubrin is a book i read for my space biology class last year..i picked out to read and write about. Tho it was sort of academic, its probably one of the books ive read that made me think the most...a bit dense but i've always been fascinated with space travel and the idea of going into space, so i realllly enjoyed it. Tantalizing but sad at the same time...i wish i could visit the future where, hopefully, i could enjoy the day dreams of people today :P
Ahhh must go study now.. will write more later

Now I must ask...if you could be any animal what would you be and why? Anywho, tell me more about your space biology class and I will look into the one book you mentioned. I need to start reading Guns, Germs, and Steel. Have you heard of it?? It is a very interesting yet academic book that looks at why certain civilizations thrive while others fail. Definitely worth the read. Ciao and KISSES

Hi Kara,
Pink, I think it does :)
Thanks for the answers, my partner would agree about scratchy, I've got a moustache and when I trim (one of your requirements know how to style and care:p) it I'm banished until it no longer scratches fortunately it doesn't take too long. :)
i wish i could visit the future where, hopefully, i could enjoy the day dreams of people today
I remember you mentioning space. Space biology, how fascinating.
On the quote, one of the things I like doing is going back a few years and reading peoples, scientists, philosophers whatever perceptions of what the future (today) would be like. I also like, and I think this is a common historians foible, to imagine What If? So much rests on choices made or rejected rather than an inevitable progression of events. Ahh what if I had not been frustrated by a recalcitrant paper I was writing one July afternoon in 2007 and instead of having a coffee with some cake decided instead to seek distraction and chanced upon that veritable cornucopia of delights we know as AW  Unthinkable!!! Back to that beautiful picture of Kara in her pink top, ahh thats better:)

Silky: wow your tattoo is so detailed! All the colours on the beak and its fuzzy head hairs :) Pretty.
Hmm any animal....i think i would want to be a cat, because i enjoy being around people but wouldnt want to be so sort of, taken care of as dogs are, taken on walks and all, i love relaxing in the sunshine, and cats have such carefree lives. Oh and they have such lovely furry lithe bodies! such pretty creatures.
My space biology class was one i did online from NCState universty, and it was mostly studying how science, and especially biology would be concerned in space exploraton and travel...everything from how plants react to zero gravity, to how science experiments are conducted during space missions, to what concerns there are for humans and the plants that'd be needed to provide them oxygen on long distance space missions...studying what habitats on earth now mimc conditions that might be found on mars, etc. I really enjoyed it (Not sure how useful it actually was though lol but so cool).
Oh i havent heard of that book but it sounds interesting. it actually makes me think of an incredible book i read called Pastwatch: the redemption of Christopher Columbus. (http://www.amazon.com/Pastwatch-Christopher-Orson-Scott-Card/dp/0812508645) Tom, i think you'd enjoy this one too! I'd forgotten that i'd read this once, but what it is, its about how in the future, based on events back in the 1400's, earth is running out of food, so people go back in time to try to alter what happened when Columbus 'discovered' the new world....and sort of goes into this parallel universe of what if things had happened differently. It is by sci fi author Orson Scott Card but brilliantly written, it doesnt come across as sci fi really, sticks to historical and cultural facts really well!
Kisses too! i love kisses :P
Tom - oh that is true, that is facsinating! ive read some older novels sorta like Fahrenheit 451, 1984, um..i remember a bunch of short stories we read too from that time period about the future, but cant remember the author..but mostly the older sci fi i've read, such as Issac Asimov's irobot series show suchh a different future to how life is today.
What ifs...that brings me back to what if i hadnt moved to australia..and what a sad future that'd be! hahah
I'm glad you got distracted on the internet rather than eating coffee and cake!
<3 to all!

Kara,
Al little explantion of ginger
The 'odd thoughts' about ginger are due to it's impact upon the alien lizard invaders (Race), ingestion of it brings them immediately and explosively into heat, no matter where they are or what they are doing they have an irresistible urge to mate. A weakness, once discovered, gleeefully exploited by those cunning Tosevites (humans). Otherwise they tend to be staid, prim and proper creatures with well defined social structures.

Kara thanks for noticing the head feathers, that is one of the favorite parts of tattoo. Do you understand the biblical reference?? I myself would be a penguin because in their element, the water, they are graceful; despite being seen as akward out of their element. It sorta describes me I guess. I will definitely check out that one book that you mentioned by Orson Scott Card. I must admit I am a bit of a sci-fi nut. Have you read Dune at all?? That is an interesting book with many layers to it. Your Space Biology class sounds like fun and it was online too, COOL. When you say NC State do you mean North Carolina State? I might need to do a little online Education. Anywho, I must be off to bed as i have to be to work early at least it is Friday tomorrow for me and i got two whole days off. I am still planning on going to the aquarium will buy my tickets online when i get home from work tomorrow. KISSES. Have you checked out Jette and Blaire's T3 yet?? Looks HOT from their posting of a few favorite images. Ciao for now.

Derail my thread? stop talking nonsense all of you!! I'm a sci fi nut too! So this makes a thread about me very much on topic...full steam ahead if i may say so, i'm sure there are lots of us out there....:P
Love: Orson scott card (yes how good is the ender series? Ahh!) Ringworld series, Issac Asimov, all the Dune books, Douglas Adams..ahh the list goes on!!! Soo i just found this nifty little site..shhh but if you have some free time, here's some free classic literature: http://www.voidspace.org.uk/library/classic_scifi.shtml.
Oooh i think i have read that Turtledove book, though i didnt recognise the title at first...a what if the south had won the civil war book! it was either that one or one verry similar, very good book!!! I havent read anything else of his stuff but am looking it up now..i never turn down good scifi haha! Update: these look awesome..will check out the videssos and the worldwar aliens series'........
Ahh this reminds me of some other books i've read..there was one about what if the Neanderthals had become the dominant homo genus civilzation, rather than the cro-magnons! let me see if i can find it...fascinating! ohh here it is! http://www.amazon.com/Hominids-Neanderthal-Parallax-Robert-Sawyer/dp/0765345005
Ooh and a very sad and beautiful and mindblowing realistic fiction sci fi novel: read the description on amazon: Darwin's Radio, by Greg Bear. Prob one of my favorite sci fi novels!! http://www.amazon.com/Darwins-Radio-Greg-Bear/dp/0345435249
god there are so many books i just cant remember the titles to, but which i've loved!
Most people my age don't read enough, so i guess it makes sense that i'd meet people on here whole are a bit older and well read and who i can have a decent conversation with! Thank goodness!;)
Tango, i will check out david drake too!
Silky: yeah, that does make sense....pengins are beautifully elegant! even when they slide along ice..haha, its like they are just made to flow, sort of, rather than walk. I guess all birds look beautiful flying, just some fly in water, some in air! Check out this video though...i love watching birds fly...underwater! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3dWkquK8jc&feature=related Mm it was a lovely analogy. so, in what situations are you in your element, do you feel?
Hmm when i was little i was pretty socially awkward, and didnt have many friends...i think partly i wasnt happy at the prep school i attended..many stuck up kids. the older ive got, the more liberal, educated, interesting environments i've become part of, the happier ive been and the more i have fit in....but i definitly agree, its soo much better to be in that place where you can fit! I'm hoping ive found that here in australia haha..somewhere!
Ok started writing about the promo meeting i went to...realized i should do a new post...
basically i'm trying to get into the melbourne music scene, having been blown away by it coming here, and so i'm trying to promote for trance music events, that is selling tickets, etc, and thru that meet people in the industry, earn some money, get free entry to events so i dont go bankrupt in trying to go to them all!
It was in the evening at a local night club, went there and met some of the people who i've seen online on a dance music forumi frequent, but it was cool to meet them in person, i got some tickets to sell, and found out soo much musical..almost gossip? about which people might be coming out this year, whats happening when...it was fascinating... although at the same time,i want to pursue this, but if i do that it'll strain my already tight schedule right now balancing time with my friends and at uni....not sure quite what to do...
um i started writing a huge post all about Kara and her music....tell me if i should finish it and publish it...i'm into electronic music so it might not mean much except to those who like electronic dance music, but if so.....i would be soo thrilled to meet a fellow such enthusiast on here. Sexy Silvie is the only AW girl i know who i share my musical interests with hehe :P

Hi Kara,
Write it up and post away, I'm sure there'll be kindred spirits and others perhaps like me who'd be interested in finding out. maybe even create a dedicated thread.
Who knows maybe writing about it will help you resolve those issues over balancing time spent with friends and Uni.
Thanks for the link, great site, I can see me spending many a happy hour. I was going to suggest Baen but I see Tango270 has linked to it, a fine place. Here's something a bit similar lots of material online
http://www.freesfonline.de/index.html
Another author you might find interesting is S.M Stirling http://www.smstirling.com/
I think the Turtledove you're thinking of might be Guns of the South where the South won the civil war by getting AK47's from time travelling South Africans and then had to fight them.
I agree with you about Darwin's Radio, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for the Sawyer link.

Hey Kara D,
So I wanted to come and say hi. I be Mr Fox and I really should have come in and said hello to a sexy young woman like yourself much earlier than we have but there we go. I am happy to be here now and in the company of such a ravishing and sparkling young AW girl. I may only be introducing myself now but believe me I have been enjoying your amazingly hot shoots for AW for a while now. <3 You especially ramp up the sexyness in your wonderful DIM and T3 encounters, the AWHQ girls need to leave you in a room (preferably a bedroom) with another AW beauty more often. :) Hehe.
Anyway I already know how seductive you can be, especially that sweet smile of yours. I have a wish to know more though so I think I better start reading this thread, starting with your most recent post which really is quite good in giving a flavour of who Kara D is. Be back to talk soon, hopefully with something a bit more interesting to say.
Take care beautiful Kara,

Kara, I love Sci-Fi. Orson Scott Card is good. I would also recommend his series about the character Alvin Maker, I think the first book is Seventh Son. It is a take on an alternate history frontier America.
Thanks for all the reading links Kara, Tango, and Tom.
Kara, good luck with the electronica music promotions, sounds cool. If you enjoy it and your breaking even or making money at it; I say, keep at it. With your smarts and exuberance you would do great at promoting something you love.

Hey Sexy Girl, its been so awesome to learn about your interests and how we have some things in common. As for my taste in music I can't say I have gone for electronica or trance but am always interested in listening to new things so maybe I can get down with it. I am more than willing try, especially for a beautiful woman like you. What is new for you and whatdo you have planned for the weekend. As for you question about my element that is a good question. I think in many ways my caring I have for people as well as an eye for detail. I also truly enjoy things like sci-fi and Star Wars. I feel like a bit of a geek sometimes but am not afraid to admite i. I also truly enjoy baking and cooking. Ever since I was a wee one my mom had me in the kitchen. Anywho, I hope we can have lots of fun chatting with each other. I have to ask again have viewed Blaire and Jette's T3?? The stills are smoking and so far the video is great. I am sure by now I have chewed your ear off. Good thing you have two huh? *Giggles*. KISSSSSS

Aww i'm glad everyone enejoyed the sci fi talk...reading is just so good!
So music....this is the music post i've composed...
Ok so while im at it, why not give you all a lowdown on Kara and her music... (ok so i'm prob writing this for my own benefit more coz i like writing occasional personal journal type stuff but why not put it here too i'm sure you'll have something to make of it)
....MUSIC SECTION......
so im from america, yea?...america probably has a wide music scene spread across the whole country, but charlotte, nc, where i came from, has a rather lacking music scene, for my own tastes.
See i got into music when i was 15 or so, pretty late, from pop and rock music on the radio. My mum listens to occasional folk music but neither of my parents put on music much, they listen to the radio or audio books......so i was never exposed to it as a kid. Anyway so i listened to rock/pop, bit of hip hop etc thru high school, radio type stuff..its ok..prob like pop the most. Find i really enjoy when the top 40 stations do club mixes mixed into each other on fri/ saturday nights…….
Then at boarding school get into more pop and then bouncy eurodance music...cascada, basshunter, etc....coz we'd throw these funny little raves in our dorms, lasers, bit o music, glowsticks, and ‘techno’ music, ie, the only electronic music we knew, but was tame fun...we were at a boarding school w/ adult supervisers, etc.
Then I come here...so I firstly find melbourne’s top 40s music is better than that in the states...and there is some indy-electro-rock stuff that I cant stand (presents, cut copy type stuff if u know what that is? its a bit hard to describe, they dont have it in the states really..) and finally I find that Melbourne is also chucked full as of electronic music...house, electro, and trance. (i've heard the scene here be compared to the European cities for its diversity!)
Anyways, I was pretty thrilled with coming to melbourne, just coz first of all i'm old enough to go out clubbing here and wasnt in the states, and also i find i love electronic music, which i should have realized all along, back when i liked the club mixes on the radio but i didnt realize that's what it was! i thought djs were just the people who played music at birthday parties coz it looked good to have a dj rather than a computer or ipod....how wrong I was!
Anyways, luckily enough i met friends who have, to me, amazing musical taste, that is, enjoy trance, techy-minimal, and perhaps a bit electro, and so they introduce me to electronic dance music. Next thing i know i'm going to these huge incredible huge festivals, seeing world famous djs, spending all the money I’ve made on AW on tickets for these crazy events...but having the time of my life. Trance music and the related scene to me seems like...i dunno…the perfect fit for me, as if its something I was bound to come to eventually…
looking back I’ve love dancing always…but dancing to hip hop and rap music, or at least how they do where I came from, grinding etc, is kinda shit. It can be fun to do with a guy I like, but its not the default sort of dance I would want to do going out to a club or with friends….and to me electronic music, though some ppl say its not music cos its not made with real instruments, is all the more amazing because it can be absolutely anything…oooh yea, and most types of music are never as good when you go see them live….yea its cool to see the singers/band etc live, but it will never sound as good as it could in a studio. But electronic music is made to be played out live, and it sounds best when you go out somewhere with an amazing sound system! And I say, who can say no to partying with 1000’s of likeminded people with crazy lasers and stuff! Hehe
but yeah…so since I came here biggest I have fallen in love with music…before itd never meant much for me I guess because I never had found some I really liked. So , that’s where this promoting stuff comes in…..been trying to get more and more into it for enjoyment and because if I start promoting for and working events then I wont spend all my money on them which would be beneficial to my finances! Plus fun
…….END MUSIC SECTION…..
OK so most of that was written last night and edited this morning...but there you go!
Trance lovers out there (or any sort of electronic music really….post please!)
And for everyone else who doesn’t have a clue what this strange music I’m talking about is, I shall provide a few links to youtube to some tracks I like…
I’ve been listening to this all day….beautiful tune that makes me think of a sunrise on the beach… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=111HKxHmjbs
This is almost a pop song, prob more mainstream sounding: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEfYEWpbqQw
And this is another of my favourite songs…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hY5u_4a3Z5k
This is an event I attened a few weeks ago, so you can see what it looks like…this is in a club…one of my fav djs, waited 4 months for this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SySfNfrGFWk
Ok so I didn’t get much studying done tonight, but I’m going to my friends for a birthday then out to a club with my friends too..should hopefully be good fun! Will let you know how it goes!
XOXO
Kara!

Hi Kara,
Aww i'm glad everyone enejoyed the sci fi talk...reading is just so good!
Hehe you did say full steam ahead, I've never been one to refuse a beautiful woman. There are lots of great sounding books short stories there to add to my reading list:)
Thank for the music post and the links I have some idea of what you're describing and look forward to finding out more, certainly be checking out those tracks and some of the others on youtube.
Aye it sometimes goes like you come across something that has a huge impact (maybe life changing) on you and WHAM you're hooked. I like the way you're promoting and working events, not only saves you money but gives you further insights and is as you say FUN.
Talking of fun a Kara/Jette T3 would be awesome :)
Have fun at your friends birthday and the club

Oh very interesting music Kara !
I like the Music links you've posted.
The style I listen too most often is a bit slower and has a slightly more 'grand' feel, mostly just due to from where it comes from, and where it's from is about as hard-core Scf-fi as it gets, so it's a double win in my book. :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9VmlJhK_Sg&feature=related Nouvelle Rouvenor Hero is a long time favorite.

OK so most of that was written last night and edited this morning...but there you go!
Trance lovers out there (or any sort of electronic music really….post please!)
And for everyone else who doesn’t have a clue what this strange music I’m talking about is, I shall provide a few links to youtube to some tracks I like…
Is electronic music that rare in the US? Spans a pretty wide spectrum anyway, but when you're thinking large shows with lotsa lasers you really can't overlook Jean-Michel Jarre in Houston (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SVfLoPHmOg) :) He's not a DJ but he does like lasers! He pretty much start the electronic music thing I think (1976 sounds pretty early to me;-).
As for trance/house.. you ever notice lotsa top DJ's come from the Netherlands? Finally an export product we can be proud of, heh ;) Do you have big trance/house parties over there too, you know.. 40.000+ people in a football stadium.. can get a bit crowded btw, please be sure to take-in enough water. The number of people I've carried out due to dehydration... that is btw. another method to get into those parties for free, staffing first-aid stations :) Parties like these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-JuZOmNH4Q .. hmm.. spotted another get-in-free opportunity for you ;-)
Melbourne should certainly give you plenty of choices as far as music goes, so you can check them all out!

It is not that it is rare just not in the mainstream. Electronic music has always been seen as substandard to "real" music.

Hi Kara,
How's your weekend been so far?
We went to an exhibition on Futurism at the Tate Modern gallery, it was fascinating finding out about a movement I was aware of but not much more, we went for a stroll along the river afterwards, a nice day. Today weather is nice so maybe a walk pausing in some pubs:)

Breezer: an an annoyance, an obstacle, or a really uncomfortable bed!
Frans, i'm mostly talking about where i lived in the states, North Carolina, was lacking in EDM...i couldnt have just moved to the west coast coz i wanted better music, alas.....
Yeah most of the good talent is dutch! I am SO going to Amsterdamn for Trance Energy some time!!
And huge amazing raves? oooh yes, i go to them and i love them (and my friends and i stay safe). Last sunday Armin Van Buuren played a 6 hour arena set here!!! Senstion White was here for New Years eve. My favourite was Trance Energy in April...prob the biggest rave i've been too...amaazing! Vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwVri908K98. Cosmic Gate will be here for a massive party in October! I'm exctied already!
Silken, you're right, its verry huge and diverse..but hard to find, perhaps?
Tom: Hello! My weekend has been epic!! Went out with a bunch of friends for a birthday, ended up partying at two different nightclubs, then going back to someones house, where all the housemates are DJs, and playing more music and dancing till like 10 am, when my friend and i made a reallllly long train journey home to pass out. Saturday we just chilled at another friends house, she made us chicken curry and apple pie, yum!!
Today, i went for a run in a local park with my friend and hung out for a bit, before finally going home. NOw i'm at home sooo exhausted but hopefully studying. Maybe i partied too hard this weekend..whoops! haha
My exams not till tuesday, but mmm i do hope it goes well! ill let you know!!
The exhibit sounds like fun, what is futurism? Idont think i've ever heard of it. Is it a politcal or social movement?
I loved being outside today too..thankfully not too cold! Oh and there was sunshine (its been raining a lot here) which was so nice!
I hope everyone had a good weekend, i know i did!!

Hi Kara,
Ahh Tuesday gives you another day to study and me another chance to say Good Luck:)
It does sound very much an epic weekend.
Futurism was an early 20th century art movement but with social and political influences rather than me garbling it here's a wiki link that quite good. It was fascinating exhibition and as it focused on the early years and what influenced Futurism and what it influenced it was especially interesting.

For big raves checkout Love Parade (Germany) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TN3zkfOq9aI), not a single event really but LOTS of people attend (1.6 million last year). Next one is in 2010, more info here (http://www.hidden-travel-gems.com/50226711/germanys_love_parade_a_techno_lovers_dream.php) and official site here (http://www.loveparade.com/index_en.php). (be advised that the 2009 edition has been cancelled, you weren't planning on visiting Europe that quickly were you?;))

Hey Kara. I always look forward to your shoots. I love your energy and enthusiasm! Plus, you're not shy about talking to your partner in the T3's, which makes them so much more interesting!
If you don't mind, I have a quick mundane question that I didn't see covered in earlier posts.
And that is your accent, which is a curious and brilliant mix. You write alot about having lived in the States, and I am pretty darned familiar with all kinds of accents here, but yours is quite a mystery. I would swear half the time that I hear an Irish accent when you're talking. Did you spend time in Europe? Or perhaps your time in Australia has modified your American accent?
Just curious as to the nature of it, since it is striking (and appealing).
By the way, it sounds like the Turtledove book you referenced was either Guns of the South or How Few Remain, both very very good!

Tom - Thanks for the link, i found that pretty cool! i had thought futurism would be from the 50's or 60's or something, hadnt realised it'd be much earlier, though perhaps that makes sense, esp the depictions of flying and aeroplanes at a similar time to when flight would first be becoming known! I found the musical ideas esp intresting!
Anabela hon, of course you can take over my thread (and you would look lovely doing so in that outfit you described) so long as you take me with you!!! :P Also you so have that cool tape plugin thing for your tape player..though cassets are awesome and oldskook! Thanks for the link, i found it more intresting than i expected. i had a good laugh at the noise category "Voices of animals and people, Shouts, Screams, Shrieks, Wails, Hoots, Howls, Death rattles, Sobs"........iif someone can send me music made of death rattles i would probably wake up all my housemates in fits of giggles (would be in even more hysterics than last week when i was introduced to textsfromlastnight.com)......i think that band would be awesome to hear live hahahha!!
Breezer, i used to be a grammar nazi too until i started using chat and social networking sites too much and took efficiency over sensiblity, but i applaud your excellent treatment of the queen's english :)
Frans: omg, some of the videos i watched from there on youtube are amazing (was checking out tocadisco's set there earlier this year coz i went to him in march).......amaazing setup and the crowd looked like they were loving it! Would definitly try to make that. Lets see..my European wish list would be: Cairo (aly and fila), Ibiza, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam, and of course the UK for GG and GK (tho i'm going to the aussie version of both!!). Though completely unaffordable or feasible, such a tour would blow my mindd!
Kammworth: thank you!! Yeah i'm really talkative outside of abby winters too, but i'm glad it carries through! Life is so much better when you discuss things, mistakes are avoided, laughs are had, stories ensue....awesome shoots too!
Ahh my accent...well, i was born in South Africa, british dad, south african mum, so i grew up sounding south african i guess..then moving the states it gradually became more american, and was probably influenced a bit by the fact i lived in the south, but i never picked up a southern twang at all. So then it was sort of american but not very strongly. Then coming to australia,i'm picking up australian slang and terminology and speaking that with my american with south african hints accent.... perhaps that mashup explains the european sound?
I'm gald you like it though! Sometimes i like it, sometimes i think it sounds too american and is a bit jarring...depends on the situation i suppose.
I think it was How Few Remain. Pretty cool book!
So...any tips for studying? like i have motivation to try to do well enough to pass....but i'm just not feeling like i care much about the information i'm learning, even when its a class in my major, like zoology. I dunno why....i've always normally been pretty good about eventually getting down to studying. not feeling the whole, you'll thank yourself when you get good grades later, either.....hmm. Tomorrow i hope i can study well...

Hi Kara,
I was aware of Futurism but that was about it , the exhibition has whetted my appetite and I now want to delve further and intrigued by what was in the the 'sound' link Anablea posted.
Alas as for studying no great advice other than to hunker down and plough into it. Try to convince yourself that you'll thank yourself later, you probably will, if like me. I went through something similar mid way through my finals I seemed to lose motivation to study further welcoming any distraction (don't know why) on the third and fourth exams and just dug in, came out OK and got back into the groove for the 5th then later went onto doctorate.
So Tom prescribes a good snooze, wake up refreshed and leap into it. Good luck.

Hey Sexy Kara, I started to listen to the links you left and they are really good and different than what I was expecting. I could almost fall asleep to the beach one. I am glad you introduced me to it. Too often we THINK we aren't going to like something so we will avoid it. So guess what i am seriously considering a trip to Australia this coming Spring, for you folk there. I think its time to go and have a little fun and somewhere different. I already found great airfaire, under $700 US, and now am looking for hotels that are reasonable maybe even a hostel or two if that helps to save money. Thoughts are spinning through my head but right now I need to pick up the house as Mom and Dad are coming tomorrow. KISSES Glad to hear things are well and hopes you have awesome fun.

Hi Kara,
I have been remiss:eek: When we we chatting about growing old I neglected to mention that our local council has taken steps to provide services for BIG KIDS. About six weeks ago they built an adults playground, one of four in the borough. It's a collection of robust exercise machines open to all and right from the start has proved very popular, people of all ages and shapes using it. The picture was taken very early on a Sunday morning and even then there were a few people on it. Some friendships and who knows maybe more have been formed;)

Silken: Aww thank you! That honestly made my day....i'm studying with that sort of chilled laid back music playing right now and its so relaxing. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I spoke to my parents the other day and they commented on how cheap air fares are getting too!! I hope you come, i think australia is a lovely country to visit! Just make sure its starting to get warm here before you come, its soo much nicer in the warmer weather! there are a lot of hostels and and round all the major cities, that'd probably be better than a hotel really, having kitchen facilites and all. I hope planning goes well, and seeing your parents!
Tom: Wow i've never heard of an adult playground before, but thats such a good idea!Melbourne has a lot of parks, they should totally put in some adult playgrounds! Looks like a lot of fun, and what a good way to get an extra workout that would be, on your walk stopping for some fun playing around! Thanks for the picture!
Studying is going interestingly....too many things to memorize, like whether annelids have closed circulatory systems, and the names of the skull bones of mammals....oh well. Trying to relax with tea and a glass of wine... My exam is tomorrow arvo, then another the next morning.

Hi Kara,
Aye thats what I do stop off and have a play around, great fun. It was surprise one day it was there, I think it had been announced on the council website and local press. As they've been a success they are thinking of putting in more, got to cater to us big kids, we vote;)
Good idea, wind down a bit and give all the thoughts and information time to settle.
