A picture says more then a thousand words? And indeed some models have a very extensive vocabulary :)

In the absence of any models, you can all primp and preen for me!
Tell me about yourself, big boy.

Based on VidDude's comments in another thread, I was under the impression that non-members couldn't post to the forum. Unless Abby & co. provide a way round this, I would assume that this might explain the absence of posts from newer models.
So, the question (to AW staff) is - do models get posting privileges to the forum? If not, could this be done? And is there any reason to believe that (m)any of the models want to post here?
P.S. Arsby, older gentlemen who take big big downloads get me hot!! Is that the sort of thing you're looking for :)

All I have to do is create a user for them. The problem is, even when we have had models post on the forums, it lasted about two posts each then they vanished. Unfortunately, it's just not something most of our models are into doing.

makes sense, if most models dont have user names they can't post; i would think lots of models would want to have some posting fun when its about themselves and get feedback;
although it could take months before they appear on site so they may not be into the Abby spirit at that point
bigger question - do models get a complimentary membership for the month they appear?
how many models have memberships???

Oh, and thanks for the reply VidDude. It's a shame more of the models don't want to come and chat, but I can't say I can blame them.
There are some very strange people here, the sort my mother warned me about :)

Really? Those people who do not change their underwear every day?[1]
[1] Wearing them inside out does not constitute 'change'.

It is a shame...would be nice to actually chat with some...
Some seem real down to earth types...(from their videos)

True...but there are going to be some odd ones any where you go...

As a non-American, I'm unclear as to the exact difference between a nerd and a geek. Or rather, I have the impression that nerds are stupid and uncool, whereas geeks are clever and uncool, but note that some seem to use the terms interchangeably.
If pressed I'd say I'm a pervy geek. Or possibly a geeky perv :)

Further to the above, just after posting that, I noticed Apollo describing hmself as a nerd because he can calculate permutations here (http://www.abbywinters.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=18052&postcount=20).
So does that mean that nerds are clever and geeks aren't? Or is it a different type of intelligence?

Geeks are obsessive and knowlegable about obscure topics. Nerds are usually academically intelligent but socially awkward.
For example I'm a Star Wars and a movie special effects geek.

My understanding is that Geeks are just people who find certain (any) topics interesting, they are how they are by *choice*. Nerds, however, are people who lack social skills - and the ability to change this.

And there was I thinking that when one of your models was described as a geek, it meant she wore glasses...

That's similar to the distinction usually used by self-described geeks. The word geek has been taken over as a label that certain people proudly wear nowadays, and so by their definition it is not a pejorative term. Usually, though, geeks are interested in things like computers, sci fi, anime, role-playing games, etc. You wouldn't normally call someone who is obsessed with Impressionist painting, for example, a geek. To some, geek also implies possession of a certain amount of technical skill, either in programming or electronics. A certain social awkwardness stereotypically goes with these interests and skills, but is not requisite.
Nerds -- according to geeks -- have the geek's social problems but without redeeming interests or skills.
And then there's the dork, but I'm not frankly totally clear on how that differs from the nerd.
(BTW, you would find many people on Slashdot who would argue that being a geek is not a choice, but just how one is... A geek can no more decide to be a suit than a suit can just decide to be a geek...)

you know the perv...
the Nerd is a person usually not good looking in a thin way, unpopular to peers, and usually good at science.
the Geek is a little better in the looks department, and can be popular at school, but few dates, smart in Computers.
nerd, revenge of nerds, science nerd
Geek, Computer Geek

It seems all the models should have a unlimted membership to the site, if not only to be able to enjoy and explore for themselves, but also, in some cases al akat, be able to communicate with others to thier own wishes.
I know there are a few models on this site I would like ot know more about and be able to gain a better understanding who they really are, and the blgos are one way to do so.

Ah, i can post a reply. That's funny, cos i logged on from the homepage, but when i came to the discussion boards it said i couldn't post any threads... upon further investigation i found that it said i wasn't logged in... although i was... Hmmm. Well let's see if this goes up! Any explanation Vid Dude? It was like that the other day too, but i didn't push it cos i thought it was because of Easter weekend and all the public holidays... Perhaps i'm doing something wrong?
As one of the Abby models i have to say i quite like having a membership to the site, checking in occasionally and seeing what's going on... It's not really my thing, though, to spend hours glued to a computer screen on chat sites etc, so that's why i don't post as much as i could, i guess. Although a 'geek', i'm not so much for the computers... LOTR is more my geekism of choice... :)

Emmar,
I hope this helps. You user-id and password are the same for both the site and the message boards. They are different programs though so you initially have to put in your username and password for both. If you click the "Remember me" check box when you sign-on to the message boards the first time, that's the only time you should have to put them in for the message boards.

Alleyes is correct. You can't log into the boards until you've logged into the website first. Sometimes something you do or we do will log you out in between visits, though that will be a rare event.

A fine choice emmar, if I say so myself (and I do). How many times have you read it? It's the only true geek'o'meter test worth it's salt. Me, I only rate a five. With 37 years of opportunity that's quite poor!
BTW, I heard Jamie was reading it - I think for the first time - during the special project. I wonder if she was so inspired she up and left for NZ to see Middle-Earth in the RAW. Bingo! :) first prize, three months free membership!
