Website maintenance can be such a thankless job.
Just like the weathermen (and women), the lament of the webmaster is:
"When I am right, no one remembers.
When I am wrong, no one forgets."
With site maintenance, those little errors are sooooo visible.
Anyhow, so far as I am concerned, the mark of a great webmaster is someone who consistently gets 95% of the stuff right, and is quick to respond to the problems, which are inevitable when you are dealing with so much detail.
I think VD's been doing a great job.
Let's raise a pint to him!
Not to mention those AWESOME videos. I am soooooo jealous.

With those terrific videos, do you think I'm going to complain about some creative links? I don't think so...
3 cheers for Videoman!

I agree! Although I have been posting about problems when I see them, I know that VD has a challenging job (and a demanding boss :-) and the error rate is way less than 5% I think.
The major site redesign was very smooth and almost error-free (at least to us members) - that was a whole load of work. I am even getting used to the blue background.
Even the sites with huge investments make big mess-ups regularly. Case in point: I wanted to review a software subscription with Microsoft - big $s for them. The URL they gave out just plain does not work - you get a pause....some spurious "browser check" message...another long pause, and then...a blank screen. No amount of refreshing or trying a different computer does any good. They could be losing millions in revenue. I'm using the latest and greatest Internet Explorer so there is no excuse.
So, don't feel bad, VD. On the other hand, there's no harm in striving for perfection and maybe some of my suggestions will help.

Thank you Arsby, I would also like to take this opportunity to commend Videoman. Job well done!!!
I must add that I was initially appalled when I saw what folks nicknamed you (I'm in healthcare), however, I must say, you've given "VD" a new perspective. http://www.abbywinters.com/discus/clipart/happy.gif Long live VD!

You know, I'm worried about the VD moniker too! When Abby started calling me that, especially on a website like this, I started to wonder if I should ask her to stop. http://www.abbywinters.com/discus/clipart/wink.gif
