Quirky Issue with the Boards

Hi Everyone,

I've had 2 issues with the boards that I've finally decided to raise. The first and more reproducible problem is when I click on a link of the news page on to the boards and then use the menu to come back to the news page, the board’s column disappears.

The second issue is really random and infrequent. It happened twice in last 2 or 3 weeks. View the attached screenshot.

Hopefully, the first issue can be fixed and maybe the second one can be chalked up to being a poltergeist running amok. lol.

The first issue is that you're going back to the news page intended for Guests. The link you want is the one that says Members Home. I have often wondered if that is a confusing entry in the list, but nobody has ever mentioned anything in the two years it's been that way so I haven't seen any need to alter it.

As for your second issue, when does that happen? Is it particular threads or circumstances?

Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it.

Regarding the link, I actually didn't think about it. Now I see the two options. I didn't know they were for the two different types of people you have on the site.

The screen of garbage I can't say happens often cause it really doesn't. I casually read the boards everyday and in the span of like 2 or 3 weeks its happened twice.
This time when I took the screenshot it was on the first link in the column. I believe it was the Nakedness Level thread.

And at this rate while were on this topic I have another observation. Right after my login and coming to the news page, I checkout a thread out on the boards. It doesn't matter what thread I click on, the first one always takes a good 5 to 10 seconds before it physically starts to change pages and goes to the boards.

The different links aren't really meant for different people so much as, if you aren't a Member, there is still an option to visit the news page. The reason the Boards links aren't included is because it's also where we put the surveys, and we don't want Guests skewing the stats of those. In the new design, this kind of thing will be much easier to control.

Anyways, as for your link problems, those are just quirks that aren't anything we can fix. The delay will be just a standard internet issue between you and us somewhere, and the gobbledegook is more than likely your browser going berserk for some annoying reason.
