I think the Rubenesque model (which in Rubens' time was the norm) is making a slow comeback. I think there are increasing numbers of women of all levels of repleteness who are proud of their curves... and in the eyes of this caucasian male, damn well ought to be. but then, I am a little eccentric. I was disappointed when I heard, for example, that Queen Latifah had breast reduction surgery. I understand the medical reasons for it, and support it for women whose ampleness hurts their back muscles, but was still disappointed. Really, though, I like all shapes, sizes, and colors. My body preference is "symmetrical". :)

Artlover, I couldn't agree with you more. I love the new Dove cosmetics marketing [in the US, is it in other countries as well?] featuring real women, who are amply endowed, appearing in their underwear, happy and sexy without the need to be skuinny and faux-glamorous.

I'd love to see more models here in the "Plump" category [though I might suggest renaming that category to "ample"].

I think Rubens was not the only painter who liked big models. Since he presumably painted on commission, his patrons must have liked ample nudes, too, which implies that at least some parts of society liked them. I have heard that plumpness was considered a sign of wealth, not surprising in eras when the occasional plague or famine rolled thru.

The thin woman is not a cultural universal--many african societies prefer women with large hips and buttocks, probably as symbolic of fertility. As recently as twenty years ago, the Anna Nicole Smith body was rarely seen on TV or movies in the USA; now the porn mag market specializes in magazines with plumpers, small tops, and long legs. So fashion changes. My dear <3 Queen Latifah would never have been a Revlon Cover Girl when I was a kid. By the time I am in my dotage, we may be back to skinny women.

As for Liandra liking Diana, well, just goes to show Miss L has, as usual, exquisite taste. Diana is a fine flower regardless of the content of her DNA. Replete with gorgeousness... as am I in my cuter moments...<3

There's certainly a similar campaign running for Dove in the UK. I say similar rather than the same as the women in the UK campaign all appear to be Brits.

Actually, I just googled and it appears the campaign ran in Europe first and then the US - IMO the US models (http://www.salon.com/mwt/feature/2005/07/22/dove/index_np.html) are, whilst still not traditional advertising models, a little closer to the commercial norm than those in the UK (http://www.campaignforrealbeauty.co.uk/uploadedimages/uk/hdr_earlyreactions.gif) (sorry, can't find a bigger pic...).

How guys can pass up women like these is beyond me... the agency that does the ads claims these are all amateurs and unretouched. If you mouse over the 6-girl pic, you see the women in alternate poses. My Mom taught in an inner city school and has much to say on the subject of language and how it has evolved in America, racially speaking. I'll try summing up one essay she wrote in less than two sentences: imagine you were taken from your home, told you can't speak your own language but at the same time not given any formal education in the language you were now expected to use. Multiply that by all the years these people were kept apart from those who could read and speak "properly" and maybe one can understand why these displaced and disadvantaged folk might come up with a few unique words and phrases all their own.

Diana, a pic of you was the reason I rejoined the site again after almost three years and I'm glad I did. You are everything the site is about. I am greatly looking forward to your next g/g release, you are always amazing in those scenes. However my favorite scenes have been;
shower and dance scene. Normaly solo scenes can be rather dull, not yours. And while I know you've done those and Abby never repeats maybe a "wet and wild scene" with another girl would be an idea.
Soap and water glistens beautifully on your caramel skin.

Firstly, or thirdly as the case may be in answer to you question what colour do you think suits mocha skin the most? from what I have seen on this site I must say that the alabaster completion of Rosanna and Amy looked rather good to me. But if they are unavailable then "wear colors that are sharp, stark and clear. White, black, navy blue, red and shocking pink all go well with Mocha complexions. For lighter colors, wear icy tones rather than pastels". Well, so the so call Internet experts would say. I personally think you would look good in anything or nothing at all. Maybe showing fresh skin after a warm shower or even better, after a bubble bath. Smell good... look good... what more could one ask??
