To those who like good drama and are not averse to a lesbian theme may I recommend the following DVD. It was produced in 2002 by the BBC (which pretty much indicates that it’s good drama) and is a three part series adapted from the Sarah Waters novel “Tipping the Velvet”. It concerns a young lesbian in late 19th century England and provides a fascinating insight into life at that time. The stars are Rachael Stirling (Diana Rigg’s daughter and, yes, I'm old enough to remember Diana Rigg!!!) and Keeley Hawes and, a bonus for me, the inclusion of Sally Hawkins in a minor role. I consider Sally to be one of the best actors to come out of the UK.
For the ladies watching I suggest you take note of “Monsieur Dildo” and thank your lucky stars that we live in the age of plastic. A formidable piece of equipment from an age ago!
Anyhow, I recommend seeing this and hope you enjoy.
