    Baltimore Orioles baseball game...

For those of you who don't know, there have been riots in Baltimore City, due to yet another unfortunate death of an African-American, while in police custody. Due to the riots, the first two baseball games between the Baltimore Orioles and the Chicago White Sox were postponed to a later date, but the third game can't be postponed as there are no more open dates that it can be rescheduled to. Because of that, the game will be played today at 2 PM eastern time. Concerned for the safety of the fans, players and umpires, the gates will be closed to the public....no one but the players, umpires and reporters will be allowed into the stadium. This will the first time in the 145 year history of baseball that the fans were not allowed into the stadium to watch the game.

I am going to DVR the game to see what it will be like when an Oriole gets a base hit, and there is no cheering from the stands....just dead silence. It will be so quiet that you should be able to hear the ball hitting the catcher's mitt for each pitch. Fouls balls and home runs will just have the ball hitting the seats and bouncing around with no one to catch them and grab them up. I think the quiet will be like something from out of The Twilight Zone.
