Now... I've got one off-the-subject, trivial question for you, Gracie, and any other Australian willing to give me the info. This is gonna sound odd, but... When I was visiting in the Gold Coast area in June (I don't like the heat and humidity much!) I ordered one of Australia's quirky culinary creations, the Mega Burger! Ever have one of those beasts? I don't like beetroot! So, I told the cashier at the counter "please hold the beetroot." Low and behold she gave me extra beetroot! A few days later, I ordered another Mega Burger (I was on vacation, dammit!) from a different establishment. Once again, I asked the second cashier to "please hold the beetroot." Low and behold she gave me extra beetroot! The Aussie friend I was with told me, "what do you expect? We don't say 'hold' we say 'no beetroot.' No one knows that 'hold' means 'don't add or leave off'."

Is that true? If I ordered a hamburger and said "I'll have extra tomatoes, but hold the pickles, please..." Would I get extra tomatoes AND pickles?.. I told you my question was trivial!
