As anything change in the model's shoot as*off today, it seems that as I access the shoot a new window pops up and somehow I cannot add any new tags. Is it only me or anybody else has this problem ?

You can actually add entirely NEW tags, but not ones from the dropdown list. At least that's the problem I see right now. I see Tom filed a bug on it, should be fixed soonish.

I couldn't even add "old tags", I mean tags that worked before. I wrote the tag names completely and tried to add, only thing what happened was blank box and no tag. I tried over ten times with no success. Only way I could add to existing tags was to write it completely and then copy that and paste it again and then add it.

i read a bit of this thread but couldnt make it all the way through. From what i read a lot of conflicting answers
But can someone to give me official answers to these questions:
1) Do tags replace the old lists
2) Are tags viewable by everyone or can you privately tag
3) if i add a tag to a photo/shoot/video that only makes sense to me and people vote it down can I still see that tag (if so where)

If the answer to the last question is no then someone has to seriously rethink the community aspect of this function.

Also where is the FAQ these days? I would expect these answers to be in that rather than having to trawl the forum.

Tags are always public and visible to others, that way people can vote on them. Private tags don't exist.

Tags replace lists as far as function is concerned, they work slightly different as you likely have noticed

You will always be able to see tags created/added to items, even if everybody else votes them down. If the down-voting happens a lot you might want to re-consider how you use tags though.

All tags can be browsed by clicking on the 'more tags' button you see at the bottom of both 'recent tags' and 'random tags' boxes on mainpage. That gets you this page: http://www.abbywinters.com/tags

Two of my favorite site image lists from the old site are the standing in the nude list and the bum parade list. I would love to see those two converted to tags and continue to be updated if possible. Thanks in advance!

Thanks Frans! Sorry I couldn't find these two on my own, I haven't used the tagging feature too much yet. I was using the search field at the top of the page to search for the two lists (which gives you shoots I think http://www.abbywinters.com/browse/bum+parade), just needed to add the images part to the link to pull up the list.

It defaults to shoots yes, you can click on Images in the column to the left and it will return images. Be aware that the image-type search is rather slow (many many images on this site)

I am with you also. Don't write or read them. I find them confusing and in most cases wrong. I want pics and I get shoots. Lists were (IMHO) much clearer.

Yes, Tom it is a mighty fine list. But, might it be named "Remarkable images" we don't know tiffan, how can the name be meaningful. Personal favorite images collection is a feature under My Faves.

Hey, once we are done talking about lists, can we nominate tags for mass destruction. If so, a tag I'd like to nominate for destruction is masterbation City. Actually there lots of tags with capital C i t y, whats up with that?

Not all tags *are* objective, .e.g. "pretty blonde".. then again many public lists from the old site weren't objective either. On the old site we had around 100 (one hundred) site-supported lists, which were maintained by staff. All the other public lists were as random or correct as the current tags placed by members. The idea of the tag-system is that people can voice their opinion about those subjective tags (and influence their ranking/visibility).

What you seem to want is more objective tags, maintained by AW, correct ?

Garion told me to come to this "discussion" link because I complained elsewhere about the inept decision to delete LISTS.

Garion, there are not enough hours in a day to read all the complaints about this unwieldly, unworkable Tag system! My scrolling finger is cramping.

Most businesses would say "I think we have problem Houston" by now............take a deep breath and admit the Tagging concept is crap, and let us go back to Lists.

I tried to call tags "lists" but it didn't make me happy.

I even went in search of happiness by clicking on a few of the "Latest Tags" you featured today on the Home Page. Unfortunately, my first click was on "Freckles" and I should have known such a generic name would yield many photos, even in the few short months that the accursed Tags system has been introduced. I got 28,021 photos spread over 561 pages.......some clown had even put in the entire shoot (188 piccies) of the very lovely Leona, who was indeed freckled.
Where I was searching for a few striking shots of a freckled model, I got the full shoot - including the longe-range-introductory shots of the lovely Leona, clothed and looking outside a window. At that distance even Superman would have been doing it tough to spot a freckle!

Having said that, if you have specific problems with tags do feel free to mention them!

As far as I can see the same occurs under lists, if you look at the old site maintained list 'Freckles', from which the tag 'Freckles' derives (the site maintained lists being converted to tags at the outset) Leona's entire shoot features as do the shoots for all listed models.
There was a problem initially when site maintained lists, such as Freckles become site maintained tags, all entities therein were tagged, so all images were freckled, as it were. The issue was highlighted by members and now, I believe has been sorted, at least in respect of post problem resolution shoots. A quick browse of the new imagesets for Khloe, Jette and Rosanna reveals many images with no tags.
