Hi everbody,

I realize that people have different tastes, and in Abbyland bush is quite popular. That's fine with me. I'm quite glad to see that the times when nothing but a full Brazilian was acceptable for the mainstream are coming to an end. For me, it's a bit like with bald heads. It can look amazing and very sexy, but not everyone has the head for it, and if you saw it all the time, it would become boring. My favourite hair style "down under" is actually a full, luscious bush with trimmed or shaven labia for a better view (and easier access, if I am lucky enough to get to play with them).

So long pubic hair is fine with me - an inch or more, preferably - and shaven is fine, too. What I don't like too much is stubble or a too rigorous trim - except, as mentioned, on the labia. Of course, that's just me, and others may have different tastes. What I don't quite understand though is why models who normally shave would be encouraged to let their hair grow out for a couple of weeks before a shoot, when it's obvious that there's not enough time to achieve more than maybe a millimetre or two. To me, that's not very attractive, and even if some people may like stubble, it seems to go against the whole idea of showing the models "naturally".

Any opinions on this?

Yeah, I'm not keen on stubble either -- can look a bit like the surface of a plucked chicken.

Trim-haired looks great, and I've learned not to mind the shaved/wax look too.

Like Eliza, my #1 preference is a bush trimmed around the sides of the outer labia.
Full bushies are #2 by a hair. Bare pubes does look great on some ladies, but my mind always wonders how they would look, with full or trimmed bush.
Stubble does look like a transition phase, but considering the wonders we get to gaze upon, I really can't complain much about stubble.

Agreed! I would never complain about a woman's grooming preferences. It's just that I've seen quite a few videos and forum posts recently in which models mentioned that they had stopped shaving specifically for AW. Which is fine if they're planning to let their bush grow, anyway, but seems a bit silly to me if they do it just for the shoot and then go back to shaving afterwards. That's why I thought I'd point out that I'm not a fan of stubble. If a model is planning to grow her bush, personally I would prefer her to start after the shoot rather than a few weeks or days before.

I totally agree with you, Eliza. I much prefer a natural neat full bush, or a nicely manicured patch, rather than stubble. It's so much softer/smoother, and doesn't give you pash rash when exploring. I think a few models have had stubble as they were in the midst of growing their pubic hair back, or waiting til it's that annoying length where they could get it waxed again. Where possible, I'll try to book models in for shoots either after they've just been freshly waxed, or once they've been able to grow out their pubes- whichever they prefer to do, so that we can hopefully reduce the stubble. x

In the shaven vs. unshaven controversy, I am emphatically for "unshaven." A full triangle - with maybe a light trim - says "fertile female" and it's a turn on. I must respectfully disagree with your assessment of the history of shaving vs. bush in Seventies through Nineties porn. I began looking at Playboy and Penthouse as an adolescent in the mid 1970s. By the early to mid Eighties, I had graduated to other magazines such as Club, Cavalier, Genesis, Oui, etc., including some of the 'harder core' stuff. I never was a big Hustler fan, though I did see my share of that mag too.

Actually, Playboy started showing bush beginning with Liv Lindeland, January 1971 Playmate. http://www.nakedworldrecords.com/playpub.htm Both Playboy and Penthouse featured full bushes throughout the 1970's. Penthouse was always a little bit harder core, with more labia shots (and less air-brushing), but Playboy was showing labia (albeit no spreads) beginning in the mid '70s. Although full bush or light bikini trims were the rule, by the late Seventies a few models trimmed the sides of their pubic hair into a wide strip, and even fewer shaved the labia area, while leaving a hairy patch above.

Beginning in the early Eighties, trimming became commonplace, although it generally wasn't severe (as in the 'landing strips' seen today). Full bushes and trim-jobs coexisted. As time went on, trimming gradually gained favor. Even in hardcore material, full shaving was uncommon until the early to mid Nineties, and was generally relegated to fetish magazines like 'Shaved Slits' and the like.

Shaving didn't become fully dominant until the mid to late Nineties, and even then there were still a significant share of trimmed and unshaved pussies, especially in amateur porn.

Getting back on topic, I don't mind the look of partially grown out pubes, including stubble. On the other hand, I do prefer the look (and feel, and taste) of a full bush. I'd have to disagree a little, I find with longer pubic hair if my teeth are being flossed, I can just use my hand to smooth the hair out of my way and usually get totally free, unrestricted access. Although with stubble, the hair is too short to smooth out the way, so my only solution is to either hope my partner doesn't mind me spreading her legs and lips a little further than normal, or I'll just have to put up with pashrash.
