Any new Kiki shoot is welcome as far as I'm concerned! Kiki definitly didn't go for 'cute' here, and that's prolly on purpose. From some of her other shoots I got the impression she didn't want the 'cute' image much. She still looked cute in those older shoots though And verrry easy on the eyes obviously.
I'm not sure if it's the color or something else but the stills look a bit grainy to me ? Hmm.. there was a shoot with such a color background-fill (I obviously don't know the official techy words for it;-) .. Bellydancing Girls .. worked pretty well there.

Well, it's not so dark and out of focus that you can't see what's going on, as was the case with the first of these AD shoots, but on the other hand poor Kiki seems to have been so cold that she's turned blue. The absence of the discolouration around the edges is a net gain.
So I guess if you want your real, natural, AW girl next door made up dressed and shot looking like a model on any other site, and with the expression of haughty disdain so typical of stock-standard pornstars on her face, then I guess After Dark may be just your thing.Last edited by JacksonP49; 28 May 2011, 02:06 PM.

Well, Kiki herself says she like doing something different, so that's her view. Personally I feel that the moody lighting takes away from the sexiness of Kiki who has always been one of my all time AW favourites. I like to see the sun glowing on her brown skin. The makeup is not necessary but I have no problem with it either way.
Bottom line: AD will not work for me if it is going to be shot or post-produced to look so DARK. But if the majority like it, so be it.

"Wow! More from the georgeous Kiki! Fantastic!" I thought.
What a crashing disappointment to see this woeful set of substandard pictures. I am not even going to bother downloading them. (And I can't believe I'm saying that about a Kiki set. Fantastic model, shame about the photography.)

Well, I think it's good to experiment, and I do like a lot of the AD concept, but I'm not sure about how it's executed. :-/ I won't go so far as to say the shoot is dreadful, I did like some of the stills, but the video lost me very quickly. The way I see it, this is a shoot that should have gone to the old Mezzanine section - not quite right for Abby, but still with certain merits which would make it a shame not to show it. I do think that nine pages of stills was excessive, and the swanning in the video made my heart sink. It's all very well to flirt with the camera, but these things can be overdone. I must admit I am somewhat worried about what mine will look like, but I guess time will tell.
Immie, keepin' it real.

A lttle constructive criticism here. I get the style the that shooters wanted to accomplish. IMO the effect worked better for the stills than the video. The video seemed to be missing spontaneity. Without that, silent, and at 20 minutes it seemed too long to me. But, great experiment, all in all, and we got to see that gorgeous little Kiki again.

The AD shoots however have tried this patience as I would far and away prefer the staff's precious efforts being concentrated on what AW has done so well over the years rather than try & force something through that requires more effort than a normal shoot for less result. The fact that some of AW's stand out models have been used in these shoots demonstrates how much AW are pushing the concept rather than working to build up the model database for Amsterdam thereby extending the current difficulties.

Thanks for responding Frans but you didn't answer the initial question.
I've also been reading through the AD thread & many of the responses to the comments of those who did not like the look of the AD 'pod' were that it will be separate & you can subscribe if you like. Further, the move to AMS was cited as the reason for delaying AD, a lot of the shoots according to Garion were dropped and were being redone and there was a lot of post move work required on the website - all reasons for not jeopardising the AW shoots that we know, love, JOINED UP FOR & CONTINUE TO PAY FOR.
I for one, do not want these shoots taking away from the release of proper AW shoots

Kiki is gorgeous, and she really looks great in this photo shoot. I just wish the technical aspects of the images were a bit better. There's a lot of noise in these images. Whether that's because the camera was operating at too high of an ISO setting, or whether the noise was the result of the post-processing done on the photos, it's annoying.

I share the disappointment that comes over in some of these comments. Kiki is a favourite with me, and the pictures are great, but the blue cast spoils them for me. In particular, on my screen the video looks "washed out", rather than whatever effect was intended. For me, at least, Kiki's rich hair and skin tones deserve better. Is there any chance of a "natural colour" version?
