Thought I'd bump this thread to say that through the casting magic help of Masie, I just got cast and filmed in a role for GoT too! Look out for me season4, ep 4 but beware as its a pretty messed up and full on scene. It was awesome to act though, I had a blast

Happy to hear that also in the next season one AW model managed to act in Game of Thrones.

There may be a possibility that your scene won't end up in episode 4 since they film everything and during editing may decide to shift some scenes around like they did in Season 3 with the bear fight.

Will keep my eyes open next year to spot you, since you gave us a heads-up.

Well, we will see. It's a follow up to something big so I'm assuming it's still going to be season 4, as it leads on to character arcs that have been heavily filmed for s04

Something big, eh? Could be only like 2 dozen instances in the new season then.

After the episode has aired I'm sure we would be interested if you can tell us a bit about your experience like Maisie did in a blog post about her scenes.

I'm a little late to the party, just started watching the series recently. I just watched the episode with Masie from season two, she did a great job. In just a few lines she managed to bring a lot of personality to the character. It must have been great fun getting to be in the show. I will look forward to seeing Kylie, Lacie, in Ren in their episodes later in the series.

Indeed, was fun to see Lacie (credited as Josephine Gillian) again. And I hope that Ren will have to be a bit more essential to the story, since her character has a name.

Gonna have to rewatch the episode again. Know that Ren is at Craster's but I didn't recognize her there.

Blink and you will miss Ren. Surely she will get her revenge when Jon and his merry band get there.

I spotted her immediately. :-) Had been excited to see this episode because of it. And yes, I can't help but think of Ren's boob swing as iconic.

I kinda wish they would stop using the wonderful models here as targets of sadism and sexual violence on Game of Thrones.

Good thing we know the models live happily ever after, after all Game of Thrones isn't exactly a happy series I gather...

dropshop, I doubt a happy end is technically possible. XD The best we can hope for is grimly satisfying, in a way which results in pretty much everyone biting the dust.

Without getting into any spoilers (I haven't seen any of season 4 yet), which character would you most like to see live and which character would you most like to see meet an untimely end?

For the living side, I don't think I could bear to lose Arya Stark. I've loved her character from the beginning where in that scene with her father she refuses to accept her gender role of marriage and children. She has probably suffered the most and yet never gives up and is maybe the bravest character on the show.

For the dying side it is hands down Joffrey. Sansa's description of him as a monster is perfect, he is morally bankrupt and the pleasure he takes in inflicting cruelty on others is sickening. He has perpetrated some of the most despicable acts on the show from Ned Stark, to Sansa Stark, and especially what he did to Ros.

I wonder how many of the smallfolk will be still alive after what looks to be an even bigger war, besides The War of the Five Kings. Maybe they are more like, screw Westeros, I'm going to the Summer Isles.

Yeah, I hope that Arya's and Tyrion's fate won't be too grim.

Those I can't stand, well Joffrey would be high on that list, as well as Stannis' cookoo religious devoted wife. Oh, and not to forget breastfeeding 8 year old son Lysa Arryn.

dropshop, I too hope that both Arya and Tyrion will be okay. I have the sneaking suspicion that Arya might just turn badass to the point of being a cold-blooded dictator who will claim the iron throne and rule Westeros with an iron fist... which could be fun, but also kind of sad. And Tyrion, well, all I want for him is to live on a charming island with Shae and live an idyllic life, with Podrick and Bron shepherding their many kids around the place.

As for Joffrey, well, I don't think there's any way for him to die satisfyingly - he is so universally hated that everyone has their very own pornographic little fantasy of the most horrid way he can go out. I think many of us have indulged in a little fantasy of Arya doing a Vlad the Impaler-style thing on him by shoving Needle up his arse, but that would still be kind of anticlimactic, somehow. Stannis's wife is a character I pity, more than anything. And Lysa Arryn, yeah, shudder. I can't help but be reminded of Rosie in The Slap.

I agree, Arya would feel much better to be a freelancer like Jaqen or The Hound, without any responsibility for a group of people. haha, your idea for Tyrion, if I remember correctly Lena Heady mentioned that as her preferred fate for her character and Jaime at the first San Diego Comic-Con panel.

Really difficult to navigate the waters around here not knowing how far into the show or the book series you and the other members are.
The second I saw the actress portraying Lysa Arryn as a crew member in Ridley Scott's "Prometheus", wasn't looking forward to see her make it until the end of the movie. Normally it is easy to differentiate actors to specific roles, but that time her influence from Game of Thrones was just too big.

The Slap...okay, might have been the first time I read something about an Australian TV series. Interesting, Arté, a German/French cultural channel aired it last year (as well as Breaking Bad and Top of the Lake).

wow..looking at the cast list, I remember Melissa George playing your aforementioned Rosie from Alias (first J.J. Abrams show I experienced...lucky guy now in charge of the Star Wars Sequels).

Would you recommend The Slap or other OZ or NZ productions?

Coming back to Game of Thrones, how do you feel about certain characters like Theon or Jamie? I'm glad to see such multifaceted characters, who may have done atrocious deeds, though in some way you can relate to their thought process. I'm sure after season 2, many viewers would have liked Theon to just get your Joffrey treatment, but watching his journey in Season 3 may even be too much for them to stomach.

True, dropshop, I think Arya has turned a bit more free-lance and into doing her own thing. I'm guessing she'll learn the ways of the faceless guys, like Jaqen. Should be interesting. As for Cersei and Jamie having a happily ever after... I can appreciate that. I actually don't hate either character. Both have done some awful things which I can see no excuse for, but they are complicated enough that you kind of get it, and kind of empathise. Cersei may be a bitch, but I enjoy her on the screen. As for Jamie, I enjoyed him post-hand-chop, as he was so much more interesting after having been seasoned with a little pain. (I'm fairly up to date, by the way, I have only one episode I haven't watched yet). I have to admit I kind of lost my enjoyment of Jamie after his recent interaction with Cersei that the internet got its knickers in a twist about. As for Theon, well, I do think it was a bit much with the gratuitous torture. I wouldn't have cared if Joffrey had been on the receiving end of that treatment, but Theon is just an insecure kid caught in the middle of some shitty politics, and who tried to seize power through tantrums. Thing is, he just didn't have the wisdom to see it through without causing horrendous damage, and it's inexcusable. I still sort of hope he snaps out of his current funk to kick some arse, though. It'd be gratifying. Theon has a teensy chance of redeeming himself, kind of the way Jamie did before he ruined everything for me again.

As for The Slap, well, the TV series is kind of meh. The book, however, is fantastic. The author, Christos Tsiolkas, does a wonderful job of getting into his characters' heads, showing both the good and the loathsome in them through an unflinching lens, but still with an overarching compassion. Very, very astute. The TV show, by comparison, is dumbed down, although it's still decent. *shrugs* Sophie Lowe, who starred in it, has been in some interesting things, including an Alice in Wonderland TV series which starts with an adult Alice in an insane asylum, as nobody believed her stories of Wonderland. There was also a philosophy movie of which the title escapes me... *quick IMDb search* After the Dark, it's called. Haven't seen it yet.

Should be interesting indeed Immie and I'm looking forward how close they will depict Arya's storyline in future seasons. What did Cersei tell Sansa again during the Battle of Blackwater, what the noble women could expect? Alas, Cersei's arc this season should be more exciting than in the previous ones. Oh yeah, I kept the controversy from a few episodes ago away to prevent spoilers. It was a inexcusable crime and they didn't manage to convey that scene as ambiguous like they intended. On the other hand, I also don't fully agree with the "How could he have done that!" outrage. Maybe some viewers had to get over a big barrier to start sympathizing with Jamie and with this act, they feel the character has betrayed their goodwill. I see it as, there isn't a clear straight path to redemption and there will be setbacks, especially for a character like Jaime, who was at the top of his game and now has lost nearly everything, which defined him. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just hope after this season is over, a broader view will give us a better understanding for the writers decision to go with this direction.

Theon was between a rock and a hard place like you mentioned and didn't had a sense where he belonged. Here the Starks who best tolerated him, but still treated him as an outsider. There a father who didn't follow his houses motto and gave him up. Who should he align with? Well, course the Tyrion/Shae escape would have spared many people from misery.
Is Ramsay Snow now up there for your fantasies? I wonder if his father Roose Bolton really intended this outcome during his education. In the books Roose really is a creepy dude, though in the show Í see him just an opportunistic strategist without any ill personal intent.

That's a good point, dropshop, about Jamie's character having some setbacks on the path to relative decency. Honestly though, I imagine he'll always be a bit of a dick, he's just more palatable now. He's not quite as much of an arrogant little turd any more, and has demonstrated that he does have a bit of grit and a bit of steel in his spine. It sort of puts him more on an equal footing with Cersei as a character: bit of an arsewipe, but still enjoyable on screen. Joffrey, by comparison, was awful to watch, which was of course the point. As for Arya, well, I look forward to her adventures.

Ramsay Snow creeps me out like crazy, I can just see him doing some horrid things on screen which will make me want to curl up into a ball and wail. I have no opinion on Roose. As it is, I don't fantasise about a messy end for Ramsay - he's dangerous enough for me to think it'd be better just to kill him off quickly, and not waste time with gleeful torture, during which he could probably escape and plot even more horrendous revenge. Sort of like Sylar from Heroes that way - so dangerous and depraved that the attitude is basically, "Quick, kill him before you have a chance, don't waste time gloating or torturing, he'll get away!"

A character I am looking forward to seeing more of is Prince Oberon of Dorn. He's interesting, and also sexy-awesome fun. I'll admit that I enjoyed his cute blond fucktoy, too, though that might be because the boy in question reminds me of a very fun young man in my own past.

This is one of my favorite parts of the series in that there are a number of characters (Theon, Jamie, Tyrion, and the Hound to name a few) who aren't outright heroes or outright villains. I love how many of the characters reveal different sides of themselves as the story unfolds, characters initially introduced more as villains take on heroic qualities and vice versa.

Right, better be gone with Ramsay quickly before he manages to escape.

Oberyn, his philosophy about enjoying all aspects of life has some logic to it, indeed. Though you know, with George R.R. Martin, it is always a two-edged sword getting attached to certain characters...graveyard of the show characters.

Since Sansa in the beginning very shallow (lemme wed this handsome Joffrey), her arc and personality have improved a lot. Her position was very difficult for some time, and she did some grave actions (telling Cersei about Ned's departure). Since her suicidal attempt with the King at the end of Season 1 though she has learned a lot about the world she entered after leaving Winterfell and Sophie Turner really had some fantastic acting moments.

What kicked Jaime's character into high gear was the revelation in the last season that he had become the "Kingslayer" not for personal gain, or even for his family's gain, but because the King planned to incinerate the entire of King's Landing if he could not hold it against the Baratheon and Lanister armies. In effect, Jaime saved countless lives, got no gratitude or recognition for doing so, and was instead ridiculed as the "Kingslayer" for years. The GOT world is a harsh place - consider that Tyrion got the exact same treatment for also saving the city. That's two brothers openly ridiculed by a world which they went to extremes to save. While we're all set up to hate the evil Lanisters from Day 1, here we have two obvious heroes whose House reputation has dragged them into the mud and taught them to hate a world they've previously saved from a Mad King who wanted to burn it all and a Red God who'd likely put a good percentage of the population to death tied to a stake.

Where does this leave the "good guys"? Ned Stark must have known why Jaime killed the mad king - do we ever see him fall over offering any form of respect to Jaimes? No. Stark was pretty much an a-hole on that score. The good guys in this whole drama would be an alliance between the Starks and the Lanisters. That's what always strikes me about GOT. These two families united really could build a better world if they could get only rid the world of the bad apples in their families holding that up! Ned Stark has lost his head, so we're one down and three to go on the Lanister side :P.

The scene was in a bathtub with another girl towards the start of the episode. You only see Samantha-Jane from behind and from a side angle but I'm sure it was her.
Okay, you really have sharp eyes and looking closely at that scene it could really be her.

Very good points, Cathbadh. It is interesting to see a certain integrity and steely spine in pretty much all of the Lannisters, it's just that they're also pretty unscrupulous. Joffrey was actually the odd one out, in that he was a snivelling coward.

Also, it seems to me that many episodes lately have been ending in a massive "Oh snap!" moment, even if there is no actual cliffhanger.

I can't remember which was the last episode without some ooompf in the last scene. Maybe in Season 2 seeing Rickon & Bran still alive.

Haha, fair call, dropshop. And it does make sense to have a non-cliffhanger Oomph! scene at the end. Cliffhangers have been done to death, and are so passe that one might lose audience members to them. XD I can't help but think of watching GoT as a bit of a bloodsport, really.

Bloodsport like in they depicting scenes like in Spartacus:Blood and Sand and you as a spectator knowing that in the end all will most likely die? Or how do you mean it?
