I am supposing the problem is on my end. If it were a general problem, I would expect to see it already addressed here. Perhaps, some kind and helpful person here can recommend a fix.
My issue is with Mila's Redux Video: http://www.abbywinters.com/nude_girl...breasts/mila_2
I always download the sq.wmv version of Abby videos and play them through movist (0.6.8) or VLC (0.9.10) with no problem. And usually, movist is my go to, my preferred app.
In this instance, however, there is no audio on the vid using either of those programs and VLC gives me a codec warning: "no suitable decoder module for fourcc `wmap'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format."
The video will play with audio through my quicktime application, but .wmv files in quicktime take a long time to load and stutter as the video progresses.
I am using an older mac. I am stuck in OSX 10.4.11. I believe the versions of the video players I am using are the highest my OS will work with.
I suspect (or hope) I am merely missing the proper codec for Mila's video. I do not understand codecs well: Where to find them, how to determine which are the right ones, how to load them. I am afraid that I am nearly helpless here.
Over the years, as I have joined AW now and again, I have lurked and browsed these forums. I haven't participated, but I have noticed that a helpful and -knowledgeable- group of people do participate in these discussions. I am hoping for some assistance or guidance from any of you willing to take the time to offer it.
I run into this same problem here and there with other videos (in particular some tantalizing transcriptions of dvds from that bunny conglomerate that we shall not name) and would be exceedingly delighted to solve it, if it can be solved. I will be bummed indeed, if i find Abby videos will no longer play for me. I appeal to the kindness and helpfulness I have previously seen displayed in these forums and would be grateful for any feedback at all. Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any assistance.
Lastly, let me offer an apology for the screenname I chose. I know its stupid. (If accurate.)
