Hiya Ardsfc

We ensure that the descriptions on videos indicate what a given video contains for this very reason (modem users).

The survey we ran recently indicated that the new style of vids are quite popular, so we'll probably stick with them for a while more. I know there are many other sites that cater to videos just being as explicit as possible, so you might want to check them out.

Personally, I like to hear the models talk about their lives. We ask them to talk about normal things (after all, we shoot normal people, remember?), and if something sexy comes up, they are welcome to talk about it, but it's not a requirement. All the models do get nude in their videos.

I admit that it can be disappointing sometimes if the models don't get naked in the first video, if that's what you're expecting to see. I wish there was a way for me to fix that when I edit them together, but most of the time they are telling a story that it would be rude of me to end prematurely or unrealistically extend just to get a boobie shot in at the end.

However, it's almost a 100% guarantee that if you download 'vid 2' in a set, they will be naked, and they will be telling a story that is independent of 'vid 1', so you won't be missing out on much if you decide not to DL 'vid 1'. Or alternatively, if you see that the chick is behaving sexily or is completely naked in 'vid 2', the act of undressing is likely to be in 'vid 1', so you can download it afterward if you choose.

I also make sure the story they're telling ends before I put up the end titles, which means a lot of the time they'll go on for more than two minutes, maybe more than three, to achieve that.

Occasionally I'll put in the descriptions of when they get naked, especially if they definitely don't in 'vid 1', but I haven't always done so.

It's funny, that no matter what we do with videos, there's always going to be some people who want the opposite. I guess we can't please everyone all of the time. But there will still be videos in the future that don't have stories or live sound, the way they used to be.

They do all have the cheesy music, though.

Vidman, Desperately searching your sympathy and support here; do the vids have to have any music at all (and if so, does it have to be more than slight background noise)? What does it add to the product? Personally, of those vids where there isn't any model chatting, I mute the vid so I don't have to listen to the cheese, lol. I d/l the vid for the model and what she shows and says, not for the music, no matter how great it may be. As in the case of many of them, it makes hearing what they have to say sometimes difficult, if not impossible. Sometimes any accent, by itself, makes things hard to discern, much less if music's added over it. We have to keep the ambivalent choice, it actually means a lot. Some people have no firm response either way, and they are worth recording, especially if they have an additional comment to quantify their answer.

As for the music, it is actually there for a reason. Usually I have to cut out extraneous sounds, like the crew talking, or a noisy plane, or Cass's phone ringing. If I had nothing to cover that, it sounds all choppy and suss, with blank bits in between the talking. I hate that. And I don't want people to hear that either, it sounds amateurish.

The music gives it a continuity. I can bring up the music in quiet parts, or just know that it hides any chops I may have made. It also is a great tool for between two shots or scenes that may not cut together so well, audio-visually. Professional productions use soundtracks that way all the time, to overlap video segments, and to hide bad audio editing, and that's why I do it too.

As for choice of music, that's dictated by our limited resources. We don't have anyone on the team to provide original music for us yet - it's an expense and a practical nightmare we have yet to overcome.

Abby it's not pure explicitness I'm after, sexy poses and a slow strip do just as much for me than some a close up of some girls pussy. I totally understand why you have done these kind of videos, I'm just saying for me it gives me no added value. To be honest it's actually worsen my opinion of some of the girls. Don't get me wrong, I like a girl to have some looks but personality goes a long way and some of the girls just come across as.... well....bimbos!

Videoman, I for one would really appreciate if it was more clear as to whether a video has nudity in it or not. I do tend to miss the first in a series if chat is mentioned but no.2 doesn't always contain much better.

I've pleaded for this before and here it is again - if anyone can zip the vids and upload them to their own webspace I could grab them in work without arousing any suspicion. In work we have a mega fast connection and I could grab the gold 45mb type videos in about 15mins as opposed to 4hrs at home (which usually translates into maybe 2 weeks sneaking back and forth to download!).

Yeah - I guess I have to throw my 2 cents in, since I am so interested in the vids.

Chatty models - it's interesting for the first video. By the end of the first video, I've heard what the girl sounds like and gotten a sample of her personality. By the end of the first video, I hope to at least see the model in her underwear. By the end of the second video, I hope for complete nudity. If she is talking through the second video, I hope she is doing something interesting besides just talking, unless what she is talking about is really interesting, which it usually isn't, really. I think that like all things in life - things in porn can be overdone. I would say that I see that less here than in other places, but we still have the peaks and valleys of behavior/style. Like jumping on the bed, for instance. It seemed like for a time that every model spent 50 frames jumping on the bed. I am exaggerating, but you know what I mean.

All in all I love it here. Yes there are things that I would like to see change. I like to think of it in terms of "plusses" (good things - do more of them), and "deltas" (things that should change, but not necessarily go away). So we solid AW citizens will continue to offer plusses and deltas for you at the AW HQ!

As for the music drowning out the model, I have to admit that I don't notice that.

I make an effort to make sure the models sound clear when I edit, but something I can't always anticipate is that after processing them, the sound quality can deteriorate and cause a bit of a problem with hiss or removing frequencies.

The model's voice track is also limited in its volume, depending on if the proper microphone was used, or if there is extraneous noise going on (wind or traffic or nature). I can't increase it much more than the limitation of the actual recorded track. When I add the music, I check to make sure everything can be heard, but if it can't at any stage, usually removing the music for those few words is irrelevant, it's just a bad voicetrack and you still can't hear it.

Accents I can't do much about. I understand all the models (because I'm so amazing), so anticipating who can't is almost impossible. I suppose we could give them all a lesson in American accents, but that would defeat the purpose a bit.

I love all of the cool accents that we get to hear on the videos. They add to the overall experience of getting to know what the models are really like. I haven't had any trouble understanding anyone.

The only video that I've really had a problem with the music obscurring speech recognition is the Natasha series. When she's on the couch she seems to be a little too far from the microphone, plus she's talking softly and chewing gum. Any music at that point does make a few of her words hard to hear. Oh well, that's life I guess. I like the videos with the models talking...this is the kind of thing I don't think you find at other sites. There was a comment in another thread from someone relating how his girlfriend had seen one of the videos and said something like, "This is porn?" which I thought was very funny and sort of accurate.

At the very least, AW isn't filled with the traditional explicit, personality-less stuff that is on so many sites, and that's why I like it. And I don't mind the fact that sometimes I might walk away after viewing a video saying, "boy, I'm glad I don't actually know her, because I wouldn't be able to stand her." Probably a good thing to remember, that a sexy body or face, or both, does not a sweet or even palatable person make. (Though in Cass's and Jamie's case they are both sexy and very, very sweet, of course.)

Anyway, I like the mix of videos AW has had over time, including the ones with stories. I also like the ones that are explicit and certainly would welcome more of those too. There's one set, I can't remember whose, with the model masturbating in a doorway. Certainly wouldn't object to more of those either.

I think the main thing is for AW not to restrict yourself to one style. If a model wants to get off in front of the video camera, or be spanked, or pee in her knickers, more power to her. Or if she'd rather tell us a silly story, or model all her underwear, that's great too. Or if you decide to do a series in the style of various movie genres, to complement the recent Petra videos, which I thought were great (she is so sexy!), then go ahead. I'm game for whatever your imagination takes you, as long as the attempt is to entertain and excite us.

I admit that I'd probably be a bit pickier if I didn't have DSL; slightly more explanatory labeling (though I think you try) might make a difference for those for whom it's an hour-long downolad.

Just want to add re: accents that I love the different accents that we get. If I can't understand a grrl because her accent is a bit thick or the music is just a bit too loud, or a combination of the two, that's okay - I can live with it!

I still play a very short video clip of Cass here just to hear her lovely accent.

We denizens of the newsgroups have the feeling that we've seen everything. There are thousands of porn videos available on the newsgroups, and after a while they all seem to look the same. The in-and-out sex scenes all look alike, the solo vibrator scenes all look alike, the girl/girl lipstick-and-garter scenes all look alike. Everyone moaning and groaning, oohing and aahing, grimacing and pouting. For this reason I sort of gave up on videos, even the earlier AW vids.

Seeing a cheerful girl happily stripping while describing her panties, then absently stroking her creamy thigh while talking about her life is like a breath of fresh air. It's wonderfully different, a whole new dimension. I can't get enough of these. I don't think it's so much the accents as the sound of her voice and her enthusiastiasm that turn me on. I also don't mind the slow strip through the first few videos if I know there will be a video with her totally nude.

I like the more explicit "spread beaver" shots, but they seem better when the models are talking about them. Probably my favorite so far is the one of the model who describes her genitalia - there's my clitoris! (Can't remember her name because I'm old, can't look her up because I'm at work.)

I'd love to see a model (Beth!) talk her way through a session with a dildo. I really enjoy hearing the models speak especially when they can relate a sexy encounter from their lives. I am a Brit who lives in the US so I don't have any problem with any of the accents and I love them all. Slip another vegemite sandwich on the barbie shelia! I agree with Jus1Drun - pleeeease lose the music - it really does nothing for me. I can add my own music (if I want that) and I have plenty of the funky easy listening tracks from Italian and French movies that works a whole lot better than the usual style of music you guys use. I like to hear the live sound even if the model is not talking a bit of heavy breathing can be a real turn on you know. Oi folks!

I love the Dudes vids too. They are so refreshing in comparison to the usual fare on offer out there.

Ardsfc, Just to help you be a little more paranoid, some places I've worked at have software on their networks called Sweepscan or Scansweep or something like that. Scans your drives looking for new stuff that may be inappropriate.
Recommendation: Get yourself a good downloader at home, set up all your downloads before you go to bed and let 'em run overnight. A couple of good free ones are leechget (www.leechget.de) and getit (http://www.webattack.com/download/dlgetit.shtml). What makes them good is that you can train a series of downloads, download two or more at a time, and if your connection is broken they'll resume the download(s) where you left off. One or the other might even tuck itself into the system tray while you're downloading so others won't realize it's active.
Be careful out there.

Net Vampire is packaged with Aureate spyware, I think that's what you're talking about. Some copies won't work without the spyware, mine (registered) works fine without it.
It tells Aureate that you've been to Abbywinters.com, and if you download Gator or Comet it knows you like porn and will send you porn popups.
Download something called "Spybot - Search and Destroy". It will purge all the spyware out of your system. If you have kids on the net, run it on their computers. Amazing the shit they download.

About half the models we shoot are comfortable with being on video.

About a tenth of those models are comfortable with being explicit on video.

And that's what you get.
