    VHS Vids

Ever thought of selling vhs tapes of the shoots? I'd buy something like that. Especially if you sold some of Danny. img tag disable, use attachment mgr/system to add images to postshttp://www.abbywinters.com/discus/clipart/happy.gif

The practicality of that has been out of our reach up till recently - not the actual ability to produce them (though that would take some dedicated equipment) but to distribute them.

But the real question is if they'd be economically viable.

For now, we're concentrating on the website and its content - but perhaps later we will look into diversifying a little. Stay tuned!

      Hi

There are several problems distributing VHS tapes. None of them are insurmountable, but they are expensive and time consuming.

The first issue is that of legalities. The US alone has several different state laws regarding what kind of material can be sent where, as do several other countries.

The second issue is infrastructure. I'd need to get a VHS mastering suite, and machines to duplicate in NTSC, SECAM (we're PAL over here in .au). That's expensive.

The third issue is content. The kinda stuff we shoot does not really lend itself to VHS tapes. It's not scripted, and it's not shot with that in mind. Indeed, the kinda stuff we shoot is very much for web-based distribution. That's not an accident.

The final issue is distribution. We don't have any kinds distribution network set up. While it's not a huge job to set one up, it takes time and money. There is a possibility to farm a lot of these problem areas out other third parties, and to be honest, I have not really explored that.

It may work out ok. Anyone wanna voulenteer to research that? img tag disable, use attachment mgr/system to add images to postshttp://www.abbywinters.com/discus/clipart/happy.gif

i forgot to add something. I just downloaded and viewed the Ally & Charlie vids. Holy cow are those erotic!! one thing i would rather see though, is audio of the models. no music, just what is being said by them. nothing scripted, just everything that goes on. wow, i gotta go back and watch those again. see ya. more danny! img tag disable, use attachment mgr/system to add images to postshttp://www.abbywinters.com/discus/clipart/happy.gif

As has been mentioned before, the audio is really not any use to hear. For one thing, our audio equipment is godawful, as it's just the mic on the video camera.

But the Ally and Charlie vids are a good example - yeah, we captured them talking at the beginning of those vids when they greet us, but the rest of the time there's water splashing, the spa made a horrific grinding noise, there's me giving little directions, Abby giving her own directions, the models are really just saying "ow, my foot hurts" or "do you want me to look over here?"***. Kind of fascinating on a 'DVD commentary' level, but not really worth leaving on the soundtrack.

And also, when I make the DivX versions, the sound goes all out of sync. I hate that. Though I guess that wouldn't be a problem on a VHS version.

***PS. At one point Ally turns to the camera after having her tongue buried between Charlie's legs, and she says something I really wanted to leave on the soundtrack, but it wasn't clear enough to work - it's about halfway through allychavid6 - so just so you know, she says "It's so cute!" referring to Charlie's pink bits.
