Very expensive??

I'm reposting my comments on the alleged expensiveness of AW.com from another thread. In response to wild rice who commented the site was 'very expensive', I replied: -

I remain genuinely bemused by anyone who posts that this site is very expensive. Again for reasons of curiosity - and also the possibility of finding some additional porn that is both good and cheap - could you suggest a site that is cheaper with a comparable quantity of material and regularity of update. I'm disregarding issues of 'quality' and 'style' as those are subjective issues (though obviously they will be important to any customers).

Does anyone else have any suggestions, or any thoughts on what does an doesn't constitute expensiveness in the world of online adult entertainment?

AW.com is definitely not expensive. It is not a necessity for anyone but a luxury and a wonderful distraction from the daily grind (even as it provides quite a grind for those who toil putting it together for our pleasure).
The service here is second to none, and not just in the adult field which does not provide much competition.
Of course it is frustrating when things don't work quite right, but the site is up and the staff are clearly working feverishly to get everything in perfect order.
This (the internet) is still a relatively new arena and despite the strides over the past decade or so the technology is not simple and bugfree, especially for a state of the art site like this.
We are not exactly lining up in the streets for bread here. This is (for the members) a frill and should be compared costwise to the sort of money spent in the pub or at the theatre over the course of a month.
If its eating into your housing or food costs, you may want to reconsider your priorities!

Less than $.50 a day seems like the best value that I've ever come accross on the net. I've been swindled into paying $40/month before for sites that don't even have any of their own content and just push recycled trash that they get from other sites. I ran accross a site a few weeks ago called ISM.com with similar pricing to abbywinters.com with interesting content so I became a member and pleasently discovered later that is also run by Abby so the similar pricing schematic makes sense.

Girlsoutwest (GOW) has two new models and five updates a week. Not as polished as aw.com, but that has to be expected for a site that has literately just started. Consequently it is a little rough around the edges which gives the site a certain charm that can be endearing. Annie X runs the site almost single handily with aid of a Vid Dude type character called "Mad Max". No receptionist, no model liaison, no other support structure.

The models are different to aw.com. On the whole, aw.com models can generally be described as girls aged 25 or under who you would be happy to introduce to your mother. GOW are simply 18 to 60(?) but are mainly 30 - 40. They differ from aw.com models in that apart from one or two exceptions, have all been around the block and know what they want from the physical side of relationships and indeed know how to please a partner. One or two of the models are quite virginal whilst others are frankly, slappers, and therein lies the appeal - diversity.

GOW is wilder, celebrates bad taste, kitsch and schlock and can be a bit contrived in places but worth a look.

I was previously tempted to sign up there, IIRC when Mardi was posting, it was mentioned she can also be found at GOW. I am still tempted as on popping back I notice that she's recently done a b/g set there.

I tend to find however that if I have more than one site subscription I end up not getting the full benefit of either...

Not sure what you mean, but with less daylight now that its winter, there is no need to be outside as much, or are talking about er...a stamina problem? At this point I cannot stress too strongly the benefits of Seven Seas "One-A-Day" pure cod liver oil tablets. Mind you, you seem to be up very late these past few nights..........

Just finished a month at GOW -- signed up mostly for Mardi's shots. But there are some other very enticing models there, plus a few that would not even make it into Mezzanine status at AW. Also, if you're by now used to the ease at which AW runs, things that get overlooked at other sites get annoying. For instance, one model had a teaser shot and the site said she would be up last week, but that particular set never turned up. Another one did. So it's worth a visit, I think, and if you have money to burn (not that it's so expensive, but AW and another site or two can add up) it's worth a sign-up. And Mardi, well...she was worth the price of admission.
