Artificially "excited" nipples. (good or bad?)

One thing I've noticed both in sets of images and in "professional"
adult films (professional usually means boring attempts at trying
to be more like mainstream film using cliche lighting and camera
work that detracts from the eroticism) is models with their nipples
hardened (with ice cubes or cold water spray.. or their own fingers)
on purpose. I don't know about all the rest of you, but I personally
LOVE the look of a nice, warm, even puffy areola. It's a preference.
I cannot stand it when I see a whole set of images where it's really
obvious that they have hardened a girl's nipples for the whole shoot.
The natural form of the breast is beautiful. I have met girls with
nipples that remain hard almost all the time, and that's fine. But
it seems to me that it's obvious when that's not the case. Something
about the shape just seems wrong. Basically, it usually looks like
someone just put ice cubes on her nipples. Can't stand that. And if you
think that erect nipples are the result of arousal, you'd be wrong
in many cases. Just watch a few sybian videos. I have seen areolas
actually seem to SWELL rather than harden and shrivel. Anyone else
notice that?

Any opinions? Am I just someone with a puffy fetish? lol

I say, there aren't enough swollen, hardened nipples in this world, and hardened nipples are a good thing no matter how they come about.

Yup. There's not a strong correlation between nipple erection and arousal or interest. It seems much more related to tension. Sometimes the tension is cause by a 'wow there he is' or 'wow here we go' reflex, but it can be cause by cold, embarassment, and all kinds of other completely non-sexual reasons.

During arousal nipples engorge all over but don't particularly crinkle up. During pregnancy and early lactation they change radically. While feeding babies they distend. Which makes me wonder what the whole erection reflex is all about. (Anyone know the technical name for the muscles in or under the aerola that create the effect?)

Treatment of nipple erection in erotic fiction is an unusually good barometer of experience since, face it, they aren't miniature penises and don't act like them.

I don't care though. I think perky nipples are very very attractive. I wouldn't want people to go to extreme lengths like using ice to get them up, but fortunately you rarely have to. And as long as it's no trouble then yes, please do.
