Well, this marks a first for me: a shoot at the beach. And not only was it a delightful (tho a little glassy), we were graced with the presence of Emily, surf babe.

I just realized one of my anti-fetishes is bodies covered with wet sand. Hope there were a lot of towels to the shoot. :-)

You don't like wet sand? Why not? That's a weird anti-fetish, tho no weirder than my own personal ones, I guess (I hate masks! and Elvaar HATES alarm sounds - both of us in a VERY serious fashion).

Anyway, not much wet sand in this shoot (tho plenty on the video camera's tripod, and in my camera bag). There is some dry sand on her, as she's waxing down ber board... not sure if that counts.

I might have overreacted. If you're booming around on a beach you're going to get sand on you, no big deal.

What I hate are the cliché "a) lay her down wet, b) admire patterns when she stands up" photos.

Here's another way of putting it. When you're a fine artisté you shoot 'nudes' for the abstract textures and shadows that photons make bouncing off sinuous (s-shaped), mounded, or conchoidal (indented) forms. Shooting 'nudes' sand is just another source of texture and who cares because you never imagine touching textures or shadows, nor would they imagine being touched. When you're a pornographer you ought to be shooting people, not forms. When you think in terms of actual people, sand is scratchy and it gets in all the wrong places (including tripods and camera bags.)

I just got around to downloading this set and I LOVE it. Totally excellent work!

This is just the sort of on-location beach shoot I requested a few months back. I scenery is great. The girl is fantastic.

The couple strolling by on the beach crack me up. The wife/girlfriend is actively looking at the naked girl and photographers. The husband/boyfriend is staring straight ahead or looking out to sea. He probably knows that he'll be in trouble when he gets home if he shows too much interest in the naked woman. Or maybe he's just embarassed?

Mmm. Quite funny, though I'm sure he was looking away more out of politeness than anything. And judging by the expression on her face, it's Emily who looks a little embarrassed. Perhaps I'm mistaken.

I remember seeing a super-sized sample from another beach shoot (starring Susie), but I can't seem to find it now.

Thanks Abby, for the extra third video of Emily. I'm sure glad you decided to save it.

The best part of it was Emily running (and jiggling) up the beach toward the camera. Very nice.

I know that its been a while since anyone posted it this post but I want to comment about Emily. Even though I not much of a surfy but really like this set. Its a out doors shot at the beach with the sun down with a pretty girl on the surf board doing bit rowing around on the sand. I don't know that anyone had notice (I know Abby did) but at the last shots when Emily is going towards the camera with her board under her arm, I notice in the background there was a couple walking along the beach at the background and I notice the woman is looking at Emily naked form with a smile on her dail and her boyfriend is looking straight ahead. I had a little chukkle about that. Also I like the redux shot as well.

To use the 'merican vernacular, I'd like to give a shout out to whoever chose Emily for the "from the archives" section. Very cute indeed. I could swear I've seen her before, but she's not in my database or in the pile of stuff yet to be archived. Does this mean I've been here too long?? As I said somewhere else many moons ago, I wouldn't mind it a bit if all the shoots were done on the beach. There's something very sensuous (and sensual) about the intersection of sand, water, and naked flesh.
