I was very pleased to see the Mezz section up this morning.

I downloaded and unzipped all the pix right away, and had one question, "How are these girls Mezzanine?" One may be a little rounder or more muscular than most of the A girls (but not that much rounder than at least one that comes to mind), and one may not be quite as pretty as most (but in my opinion, not all) or have a large tattoo (some of the A girls have a few small ones, no?), but I don't really see a huge difference in these two particular models.

A while back, you posted images of a girl with fake breasts. She definitely would have to me Mezz. Also, I'd look there for girls with a lot of piercing, tattoos, plumpers, etc... Or maybe just not pretty. But when I scan through the A girls, there are some that I definitely would consider to be Mezz. I'm not going to name any names, because I don't want to be insulting to any girl that is naked on my monitor.

So I was surprised...

But hey, keep 'em coming. I thought both Danielle and Julia were just great. Makes me happy to be a Gold level member.

I'm thrilled you decided to put up the Mezz section.
I agree with Slipjig -- why are these two Mezz quality?
Then again, it's just wonderful to have three new models in one week.
I'll take 'em any way you want to throw 'em at me.
BTW, the quality of the m-Julia pics was tremendous; a very short set but you really captured the personality of the girl.
The lighting was a bit off in the m-Danielle set, but the girl was enthusiastic and some of the closeups were superb.

It seems a little odd not to have bios for these models.

First of all, I agree with Muggins that there should be at least a short bio, if not a short story, about each of the Mezz sweeties.

I agree with your move of Rose and Louise; Rose I don't much care for, Louise is my roly-poly honeybunch and I adore her, but how she looks!!

Who's next? The only one I can think of is dear sweet plain-looking Julia, everyone's little sister.

There are a few others that I personally don't think come up to the standard of attractiveness you've set over the last few months, including Indio, Jules, Anastasia, Haley, Julie, Mandy, and Renee.

However, as Abby's Prime Poster, I've gotten requests about each of them, just begging for more.

Each to his own. Now that the Mezz is there, it'll sometimes be hard to figure where to put some of models.

What?

You would have Julia(the Julia from the Beth and Julia series)possibly be the next move to the Mez? Putting her in the same league as Danielle? No way. I know everyones tastes are a little different, but sweet, cute Julia next to Danielle who looks like...nevermind I don't want to be mean, I'm just not sure Danielle is even up to the Mez standards. I think Abby's first instinct about these first two Mez girls was right.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, and for the rest of my opinion about the Mez which follows, but keep in mind I'm really Abby's number-one fan and normally agree with her decisions about abbywinters.com, which is easily the best amateur site on the web and a great value.

That said however, my biggest concern about the Mez is this. I realize that the Mez is intended to contain girls of secondary "quality", and that rather than have them not be seen at all and essentially be a wasted effort on Abby's part, they might as well be put somewhere for us to view. Who knows, someone might really enjoy a particular girl that Abby thought didn't measure up. Right? I too am in favor of there being a Mezzanine. But, I was really surprised to see the Mezzanine girls replace the Gold section last Saturday. It was my understanding from the beginnning of discussions about the Mez that it would be an extra no charge addition to the site, a bonus for loyal members, etc. If I had known that it would be presented instead of the certain weeks Gold quality level girls, I would never have supported the idea. Look at it this way. A member pays extra for Gold level and gets Mez level instead? If I were a short term subscriber, and not a year-long member and hopefully permanent resident of abbywinters.com, I'd really be unhappy about that. Just think, if the Mez hadn't replaced the normal Gold content, we could have had more of a really hot set like Joanne and Mianna last Saturday.

So to sum it up, let's have the Mez section, but I think it should be a bonus sub-section of the Gold area.

There ought to be a rule that when you just agree with everyone you shouldn't post at all. But there isn't so here goes.

I think some of the models in the main model area could move to the mez. And some of the current models are adorable but the photo quality isn't as high.

That last bit is important both for historical purposes and for the Mez model's self-esteem. And Abby has said some of her sets, like the first she ever shot, have attractive models doing interesting things but she didn't like the way they were photographed or the way the lighting worked out or they blinked every time she released the shutter. That first set sounds interesting enough. Sooner or later you ought to put it up there.

By the way, I agree that after that initial release Mez photos shouldn't displace other Gold selections.

Hi Centaur, TFL

TFL's right, the Mez was a gold update for the launch. From now on, it'll be updated in additional to other Gold updates, not as one of it's own - kinda similar to Backstage.

Centaur, keep in mind that ONLY long time members (three months plus) have access to Gold - for a section that's a free bonus ANYWAY, I think that one update in 12 being "sub-standard" is ok odds. Especially when most people were all for the Mez section, anyway.

I have recieved one "complaint" from you (and you yourself don't even mind, you're just worried about what other ppl might think, right?), and a offhand remark as part of a survey response (heh, or was that you as well?) who said the mez models should not be released at all, not that he minds, as there is heaps of other stuff about.

Anyhoo, it'll not happen again (until we think of a new section!), so it's a moot point.

But thanks all, for your feedback. I'll chalk up Mez as a success, I think.

I'm probably in a tiny minority, but I'd rather see a new mez girl that I've never seen before than the continuation of a girl/girl set.

So now that the Mezz section is populated with a few models, and the main site has plenty, I have to ask what the criteria are that make the difference between an "A" girl and an "M" Girl? We all discussed it on the list but in the end - you have to make the call. I know there are probably some gray areas, but there must be some guidelines that you follow...

Abby, Elvaar, Susie, and I, all have our own tastes. Abby always asks what we think of individual models, and we often differ. There are some, however, that we all agree on as being Mezz candidates, so they are definitely on the list (not many in that category).

However, sometimes it's how the model behaves at the shoot (something that rarely comes across in teh finished pics) that influence Abby's decisions.

I agree with you to a point, Jus1drun, though I think the girls are paid the same rates regardless and they may care less about it than we do. The whole idea of the Mezz is a good one - AW has a pretty firm set of guidelines as to who will appear on the main site, but there are girls who, even though they may have some excellent qualities, fall outside those guidelines. The Mezz section is a place to post that material.

It's tough sometimes for me to see how some of the "A" girls aren't "M" girls. That's why I asked the question. I thought that Videoman's input was interesting - he said, "However, sometimes it's how the model behaves at the shoot (something that rarely comes across in teh finished pics) that influence Abby's decisions." Yes - it makes sense that personality doesn't always come across in the shoot - like great photos of the Grand Canyon Sometimes it just doesn't translate.

One more thing... Will we ever see video in the Mezz section? I hesitate to say "bloopers" or "outtakes", but that might be a lot of fun...

We don't actually tell the models they are going to be on the Mezz! What usually happens with these models is that they come in for an interview and they are perfect-nice, good looking etc., but then when they arrive for their shoot they have miraculously changed into not-so-nice and not-so-good looking. It's a mystery! (And yup, they all get paid the same)

i just took a peek into the mezzanine and have a couple comments.

re: leah, well, i like the looks of a little pudge as much as i do a girl without it, so i found that aspect of her appealing. i think it helped in making her breasts a little more pert, also, which is hot. she also had some very appealing shots that included her face when the squinting was more absent. when i got to the pee pics i was in awe at the stream. that thing was sooooo steady and sooooo thick i expected to see her face caved-in by the time i got to the last jpg. that was an academy award-winning performance, i dont care! and thank u for it, honestly.

Just thought I'd mention that, while the mezz shoots might not be considered top grade material for whatever reason, they can still be very interesting. I really like the new Leonie sample, for example. The blonde beach girl, chrome hula-hoops, and muted colours, gives this pic a real retro, 1950s, poster look. Nice.

Heather's set was another nice one, if oh so short. Very sweet she is too, though heather024 detracts slighty, as she's a bit too distorted by the blur. Perhaps Jane next week? ;)

Yeah Heather's great too. Heather and Leonie are exactly the sort of models I hoped would show up in the Mez. Pretty, sexy, at least adequately immodest, not the least bit unfortunate or freakish, but for one reason or another not perfect for the AW.COM niche 18-24 niche.

Sets like these might blur the market for casual browsers (and in porn it really helps to nail your niches) but they're a perfect bonus for those of us willing to earn our way into the Gold section. Thanks Abby!

By the way, Abby, let me know if you ever want to start a 25-32-year-old variation on the AW theme. I'll be your first subscriber (if half the rest of us don't get there first.)

Note: Since you're probably still wrecked from your current shooting schedule you're probably not in the mood to hear it, but another few birthdays and it might make more sense, eh? :-)

TFL said it right. Again, I don't know how much of a market there is for material like that (Aunt Judy's is the only one I know of) but I would just LOVE it if Abby had a site featuring "regular" girls just like the ones in the Mezz. A little older, a little rounder, not quite as pretty...
...but just as enthusiastic, and very pretty in their own way.
