No audio and jerky images

What am i doing wrong? I have downloaded the videos to my PC (Windows XP) and then burn them to CD. When I play the CD the scenes are jerky (ie keep stopping every few seconds ) and I do not have and sound

Need more info; which files (filenames, wmv or mpeg) have you downloaded. Using what program did you burn them to cd. On what equipment are you viewing the cd ?

also need to know:

(1) what if you play the media files from your computer before you burn them to CD - do they work?
(2) what if you copy the files from the CD to your hard drive, and then try to play them - do they work?
