Feature Movies - Making Them More Accessible

    Hi there (er, G'Day?)

Firstly I love the videos in the Gold section, they are truely awesome. They have the av quality, res and length to be truely worth the money, and the girls look to be really going for it. There's nothing worse than a porn model action, it is so anti-turn on (you can almost sense the lack of spark in the atmosphere).

But I would like to throw a spanner in the works if I may. I live in shared accommodation (like many young men) and thus my access to a VCR is limited to hollywood movies and cable/terrestrial television. Not porn. Let's face it, a lot of us have our porn viewing limited to a PC in the bedroom. Sadly, the idea of Abby & Co. releasing some of their finest work solely on VCR has myself and I bet a large number of others jumping up and down in utter frustration. I have a PC DVD player, but the cost is prohibitive to you at the moment which I accept as another "life sucks" issue. However, bearing in mind the huge size these solo and lesbian films must take up, swapping of digitised videos of these tapes ia online file sharing is going to be extremely limited indeed (yeah, I'm betting someone will try and take a bit of your profit cause they can't get it by paying for it).

My point? Distribute the movies on a per-order basis over the Internet. The six Jomiavid series posted so far comes to 235MB in size, which is rather good compression considering the fine technical quality of the end result. Surely someone could calculate the size of the feature films in DivX and cost up the bandwidth for it, then add a little for the profits and post it for download to those who have specifically paid for the download rights to those specific films?

Hell, I'd pay a premium for the DivX content since in the future it won't degrade (unlike VHS), won't depend on a private hour in front of a telly (near impossible here), and can be transferred to a digial media for playback in a machine of current choice (big bonus). Sure hollywood are experiencing problems with feature films being swapped, but the quality of the encoding is sh*t.

Adults such as myself who are offered really -good- content will pay the premium for a downloadable copy. Just wish tnvideo.com would realise this too...

Thoughts? I know costing the download wouldn't be the problem, but working out access to it would be the main sticking point; I'm thinking of charging enough to cover the bandwidth twice over (allowing leeway for those who's connection die) or time-limited access (for those on ADSL or higher). Either way, please do it since I am not in a position to get VHS access img tag disable, use attachment mgr/system to add images to postshttp://www.abbywinters.com/discus/clipart/sad.gif.
