New assistant now that Susie's gone

It's sad to hear that Susie is leaving and moving on img tag disable, use attachment mgr/system to add images to postshttp://www.abbywinters.com/discus/clipart/sad.gif She was always a pleasure to see in her many sets and backstage photos and to hear from her on the boards.

But as for a new assitant there at abby HQ...I vote for Danny!! Shes always been one of my favs and each time I see her in various photos posted in the backstage stuff or on the forums...she just becomes more and more desirable. I'm thinking she would probably be great around the office, and if she were to get the job, hopefully she'd sneak into a few more pics! Speaking of...any more sets with her planned in the future Abby??

I'm with Blackgoat with respect to Danny being one of the most desirable models around. I've been here more than a year and she's still my all-time fave. And, looking at the backstage pics, I think she looks just as good if not better now that she's "filled out" a bit.
She doesn't live in Sydney, though, does she?
She's still my first choice.
Also, along with Blackgoat -- even if she won't be an assistant, I'd love to see another photo shoot of her.

Ok, everybody take a deep breath. First of all, from the sound of Abby's announcement Susie's coffee cup wasn't even cold yet. Not exactly a the most diplomatic time to start talking about replacements, eh?

Secondly, I'm guessing life has been hectic for everybody at AW since they moved into their new space and started working full time. Plus with Susie still fairly new on the (probably more than full-time) job, with VideoDude fresh off the plane, and a full-press shooting schedule (for two websites now?) Well, she might or might not be able to gain a little perspective after a break. Were she my employee (and assuming she doesn't do this on a regular basis) I'd probably wait 'till at least Monday before writing her last paycheck. :-)

Thirdly, while I'm not sure we're in the best position to pick a new office-manager/photo-assistant for Abby, it was nice to have a former AW model we knew (in the sense you know anyone behind the pseudonyms on a porn site) posting regularly. That it in itself has to be a tough job -- we tended to mob her a bit sometimes.

Anyway, let's all wish Susie well whatever she does next. And if she's really gone-for-good gone let's hope life won't be so hectic for the rest of Abby & Co. that they can't take her out for lunch in a week or two and debrief.

Hi Guys

Susie's decision seems pretty final, but you never know. We will most certainly remain friends, and when we head down to the city she has moved to, she may even work with us again.

Susie will also continue to appear in backstage shoots for several months yet, as the backstage is a few months behind the times in that regard. I do know that Susie does not want to do any more shoots herself, but then... She's only young, and those damn kids change their minds alla time ;) (tho requests here won't make a whit of difference, sorry to say, so please save the ether in that regard).

Susie generally does not have net access outside of her work here, but I will let her know there's a thread in her honour here, and maybe she can hop on the boards, and speak for herself sometime soon.

Danny did do a bunch of work with us at the start of this year, but now has a full time job (similar to what she was doing for me) with a shooter in another city (he poached her from me!). She's not at all interested in doing more shoots herself, last I spoke to her, but there are a bunch more backstage pics of her yet to come up - some today, in fact.

TFL, in all honesty, it was me who started talking about a replacement in Friday's update - callous as it sounds, we gotta keep the machine lumbering along - if it stops cold, it's really hard (and, to be straight with you, expensive) to start it up from scratch. Training someone up takes a good month to learn the basics, and a few more months to get comfy.

The job is hard, tho it's also well paid for the kind of person it suits, and in the past I have had a high turnover for the position (tho Susie has held it the longest and done it the best). I have a few people in mind to try out for it, and Elvaar has suggested that I get two or three people on the case, doing some kinda timeshare thing, so if one person leaves, we're not caught out.

That seems like a good plan to me. I'm still pretty young, and new to this whole management thing, and I make mistakes pretty often still. I canna help feeling it's a little my fault for expecting Susie to cheerfully give 100% of effort when she was living all alone in a city of four million people, where she knows two.

Jus1drun, I doubt your post had much to do with Susie's decision, as she brought it up a few days ago, so rest easy on that count.

Well, I for one, am pretty damned bummed out that my favorite girl is leaving the team. We all make decisions for whatever reasons are valid at the time, and the certainly Susie has a right to move on. I hope that the next opportunity she takes is a great one. Being happy is the most important thing in life.

Susie - if you have a chance to see this, we'll miss you. Loved seeing you in the Backstage section, laughing it up with the girls, and generally making everything more fun. Thingas will certainly look different after you've moved on.

Drink a few Redbacks for me!

Well, I am extremely flattered!

Hiya guys (and girls?), thought I'd pop in and say my official goodbyes to all.

I am now in Melbourne, doing lots of university applications and working as a promotions girl! I will probably go back to uni next semester and continue a degree in Journalism that I started 2 years ago! (I quickly stopped going to class after finding the campus tavern...) Or maybe I'll study forensic science, or maybe production...I don't know!

Thank you so much for all you're kind words!! I am going to try and post every now and then, let you all know how I'm doing. And you never know, maybe I'll be back one day-furiously finding models to add to the "collection"! (I have already spotted a few in Melbourne...)

Anyway, I'll try and post soon. For the record, I vote Cass as my replacement, MY all time fave. What a superstar!
