look at my site? anyhow how do you post images what format etc size blah blah

Click "Go Advanced", scroll down, click "Manage Attachments", click "Chose file" and select the file to upload and than click "Upload".
Wait until the file is uploaded, it appears in that window, close the window and submit your message.

Pictures should not be wider than 800 pixel.

    Lxm

BTW: Yes, I had a look at your website.

P.S.: I will move these posts to the test forum a bit later.

Thanks Luxman. I will adjust some images to size and try an upload. The missus is also on ISM. Hey when I was in Lux I remember GREY not green but I will have another visit in 2010 for family reunion. will swing by Lux and have another look on the way to the Ardeche.

      cheers thanks for your help!

smudger, the only think with posting is that you have to resize your pics to a maximum of 800 pixels.

I usually reduce AW official pics to 50% if I want to post them on the forum. Don't want to many free pics on the forum, we want subscriptions

Smudge could you please resize the above pic? You will have to delete it, then attach a resized one. Good training

Smudge (or anyone else), if you need help with resizing let us know. Irfanview (free!) does a great job at resizing images, even in batches.

...gosh thats a really big pic...and the quality isn't as good as the LG Shine...both are 2mp...does that just mean i need to make the pics smaller? I could send em to Althea but Id rather learn to get it right myself...Would anyone be able to assist a damsel in phone distress?

Try using some free software called Irfanview, from Irfanview.com.
Open the image, go to the image menu, take the resize option, set the width to 800 (is that small enough?), then file/save as.

P.S. You are sooooo pretty, Sue Ann!

Resizing wont solve the image quality problem. If possible try setting your phone to take 1280x1024 pictures. Even though both phones might be 2mp, there is lots of other tech stuff that might be different, ask Abby
(lens is the most likely culprit btw)

After you have 1280x1024 pics you indeed need to resize them to 800x600, you can do that using LOTS of programs. Picassa prolly will do it, while helping you organize your pics and possible upload them to a website.

If you just need to resize 'm I'd say IrfanView is simpler. I know that one better, so can help you with it if needed.

Sue-Ann, in that picture the light coming from sides reduces the picture quality, even though it's 2Mp cam, the lenses in phones aren't very good. Frans is right you should check that your phone is set to take pictures in highest quality, you can always resize them later.

You had nice birthday cake there .

Better quality if you want, but that smile is still captivating.

Nice shot Sue-Ann. In an earlier post you weren't happy with the picture. You had a cupcake in front of you. The reason that picture wasn't as good as this one was the lack of light. With a low resolution camera, light makes a big difference. When you don't have the proper light, you get "digital noise", which makes the picture look bad. This picture had good light, so it came out good.

                                                  Is there a reason?

We have deactivated the signature feature of our boards because we don't want the colourful stuff everywhere.

So please refrain from attaching that picture to all your messages and just sign with your name, thanks.

However I think that's pretty incredible when I have paid over $100 AU that we can't have a sig.

                                                      Please explain?

Hey Rick, here's an old comment by Luxman regarding signatures:

First, it always makes me connect to the site when I get my notification e-mail because there's an attachment (I have to check).
Second, even if it's very light in kilobytes, with all the traffic we have on the boards, it may be a significant amount of bandwidth that's used.

I'm sure you have been a member of many Internet communities, but I think you'll find that this one is unique from the rest and here we don't want a message board full of useless junk like signature and a million smilies (the limit per post here is 4)... they are pointless, distract from the main messages and take up bandwidth as Luxman mentioned... So while you have paid over $100 to be a member of this great site, I think that with time you'll see that you are getting value for money far beyond your average porn site or Internet community... Plus, as much as it pains me to say this, most of the value from your hard earned dollars is in the great content that is released here every single day, the boards are just a small side benefit...

What do you think Lux, did I cover that one pretty well?

Hi, Rick, welcome to the boards.

Just out of curiosity, how many of those internet communities you've visited were attached to a porn site?

I think "policing" user-created image-based sigs both for copyright infringement and possible offensiveness might be more than the moderators can handle. In other types of communities this might not be an issue, but here I think it is.

Personally, for me an image signature adds nothing to the discourse. I know you by name, that's enough.

Fair enough, and not a bad explanation Arsby.
I suppose I always think in simple terms without having to worry about copyright and such.
For a site like this, I suppose it could make it a target.
                                                            Cheers for that !
