I have had a thought for some time now, and wondered where it might be appropriate to ask/suggest. This thread seems to be the ticket.
I understand about the logistics and safety issues associated with any kind of live chat, so I'm not suggesting that at all. What about an audio podcast? A weekly podcast that could be pushed thru iTunes. A featured model and someone on staff. Probably best to have 3 or 4 people actually, "on mike". Why would I suggest this? Simple: I really, truly enjoy getting to know the ladies (staff and models) as people. I have found them to be remarkably articulate and intelligent, not to mention down right witty!
What would the format be, you ask? Well, I'd refer you to a couple podcasts that I listen to each week:
1) Nobody's listening, a podcast that features a guy and a guest host reading funny true stories from listeners, as well as sharing short true stories from their past week, etc. It's really cool to listen to them tell stuff from their past.
2) ExtraLife Radio, a podcast by a gamer/graphic artist and two of his gamer/graphic artist friends who talk about "geek" and "gamer" things for an hour each week. Yes, it's nerdy, but they are pretty cool and they just obviously enjoy hanging out and talking about what they like. The fact that they are in Utah, North Carolina and Columbia South America, recording over Skype means they have lots of different perceptions as to what is good/bad about "geek" things like movies, tv shows, comics, etc.
3) Never Not Funny, a podcast by US comedian Jimmy Pardo where he gets a couple friends each week to just talk about their lives, loves and they share funny stories too. It's one of the top podcasts on iTunes.
Ok, so my idea is to do something like these. Let the moderator ask the model questions about their life, their shoot(s), etc. You could even let the members post questions that would be moderated before the podcast was recorded. I don't think I'm alone in thinking that getting to hear Melinda, or Gabrielle, or any of the ladies talk about what makes them "tick" for an hour would be incredibly awesome. Ok, so I LOVE the accents, but that's just the side benefit. Since we get to ask them questions and share stuff about ourselves on their threads, we already know them to a degree. I just think it would be even more special to get to hear them recount stuff in their own voices.
That's my 2 cents... Thanks, Z
P.S. I understand about the possibility of bandwidth and technical logistics being a factor in whether this is feasible, not to mention the time and staff involvement required to make it happen. But, never hurts to ask, eh?
