    Mac Users: Download Managers

    Hi folks,

Got a request for Mac users - what do you recommend as a download manager that can be used on our site? PC users have a program called NetVampire which has the ability to get past username/password doodahs, which is a key factor. Mac Users need an equivalent that we can recommend to them.

Just so you know, a download manager is a program that lets you queue up downloads from a website etc and lets it do its job in the background, and also resume interrupted downloads.

The one I use and recomend is iGetter. It's closest comparison would be flashget for PC. For me it's much smarter and simple to use than the alternatives. (And faster). Available for OS 9.x and 10.x

    Other Mac download managers are:

    Speed Download
    http://www.yazsoft.com/

    Download Deputy
    http://www.ilesa.com/software/deputy.html

    Monica

I dont think Monica acts as a download accelerator like the others do. It does not split the file into parts and make multiple connections.

    All shareware.

iGetter is the one I saw bandied about the most. I wasn't sure about it getting past passworded sites okay. Good to see it can do the job. Thanks.
