    covering tattoos

Just a quick question more than a thread. What's the deal with covering tattoos? It makes the shoots seem ever so much more contrived and a bit clumsy. Did somebody sue you?

First time subbing in some time, and its the same as it always was since the move to Amsterdam, ignoring feedback and treating forum posters like we're a vocal minority. Please show us your research that shows that consumers like the models to look goofy with garments unrealistically draped over tattoos. Show us the consumers that love this policy. They don't exist!

I'm sure us sad sacks will be griping about this years down the road. They just never listen to us on this issue.

...And don't even get me started on 60 fps content. So now I have to re-encode all my videos so that they don't look cheap and in fast forward? Ugh. High frame rates are only good for video games!!!

Sorry to gripe, so here's some positive vibes. The camerawork is still pretty dang good, and the shooting crew are all aces. My ire is aimed squarely at the executives that keep pushing these lame policies.

Can someone please explain to me WHY tattoos (and scars etc) have to be hidden? It is just so lame, AW makes porn, with "normal" looking girl next door type models... I find all this covering up really distracting and anoying. The last thing i need when watching porn is wondering what can be so horrible or disgusting that it must be hidden from view? Does she have a Trump tattoo?, marihuana leaf? Angela Merkel? When i start to notice just how skilful the shooters are with angles etc, as pornographers you are doing something wrong. Please realise that i am not just whining about this, i care enough for AW to be writing this. Still my favorite porn site, and the only porn i have ever paid for....

The silly thing is that most of the tattoos are only small anyway. Emma B obviously has one on the front of her left shoulder and something on her right arm near the elbow. Can they really be so bad that the tattoo-hating members will leave if they're allowed to be seen. I doubt it.

i don't like tattoos on anyone, especially not on pretty naked girls. I'd far rather see them au naturel. But if it's a choice between a naked girl with a couple of small tattoos, or a girl going to ridiculous lengths (balancing a folded towel on her shoulder!!!) to cover a couple of small tattoos while pretending to be in the throes of passion with a lover, I'll take the couple of small tatts any day.

I have a strong preference for video over stills and must add that any enjoyment of Emma B's g/b performance was wiped out by her constant efforts to hide her left shoulder. Whether this is her own choice or not it was badly done on this occasion as she managed it better previously although I was still irritated by the distraction.

Chloe has become quite accomplished at exposing her rather lovely breasts whilst keeping her top covered but I'm afraid that it is becoming increasingly difficult to see past the unnatural effect that this adds to her appearances.

On reflection I think AW's offer is being severely diminished by the growing emphasis on covering body parts with neoprene, bandages and clothing.

Have to agree with the majority of comments Nothing wrong with tattoos. The shoots are much better if the model doesn;t have to worry about covering them

I have to concur with the general sentiment; i.e., I'd prefer a world in which tattoos had never been invented, but they are a fact of modern life and almost all young people have them. This being the case, I'd prefer honesty in presentation and dispensing with clumsy coverings.

I agree with the sentiments expressed by raiedefesse - and most others, that while I'd prefer a world without tattoos, the silly covering of them gets in the way of enjoying otherwise excellent videos, stills and lovely girls. Let's face it (for example) the tattoo on Emma's shoulder can't be very large, so why so much distracting effort to cover it up?

Emma B is absolutely gorgeous , which fortunately distracts from the cloth draping/bandaid patchwork in scenes.

No seriously, AW is being awfully quiet on this discussion. Do you wish it blows over? It will until it pops up again next year.... there are several treads buried in this forum, and the same arguments are heards time and time again.... nobody actually defends this crazy policy. Just be honest about this please, i can find out exactly how much a model earns in aew clicks and this tattoo coverage thing seems like a secret directive... how odd.

The insidious effect of the tattoo Stasi is the distraction of automatically questioning whether they are wearing something is an artifact of their unique persons or because they are having their unique persons muffled by the ink police. Witness the recent appearance of the lovely Charlotte J, who in all of the promotional materials is almost entirely dressed. With almost nothing but her face and her ladybits exposed. Which if it's just her own personal choice is fine, but if she has to be whittled down to just the parts of her that are sexually consumable to satisfy website restrictions isn't just distracting, it borders on necrophilia. In any case, we have yet to see the full set of stills or the video, so I may just be being paranoid. Yet I believe my point stands. I should be salivating with pure anticipation over Charlotte's considerable virtues. Not bracing for another especially awkward example of this terrible policy.

Hi folks, sorry to take so long to respond to this thread.

Yes, we deliberately cover tattoos for models.

While I appreciate that some folks would not like tattoos covered, our research into the matter shows that prospective customers prefer not to see tattoos on models. We're a business, and we make what appeals to the bulk of our customers (and what meets our own internal requirements).

Sometimes we make compromises, and sometimes those compromises do not meet with satisfaction of everyone. I agree that sometimes, the tattoo covering is absurd - we need to work on doing it in "naturalistic" ways. We have never, nor will we ever, work to meet everyone's precise personal tastes. Frankly, we get more requests for girls pooing on each other than we do to show uncovered tattoos (as an example of a polarising Thing). And we get far more requests to force all models to shave. And for them to be "pettier".

For now, we will not be changing our policy on covering tattoos (though we often select out tattoo'd prospective models in the screening stage), and we're working on simply recruiting less-tattoo'd models.

EAP1988, by mentioning the "Stasi" you're coming close to meeting the requirements of Godwin's law, which means you automatically lose the argument, so you may wish to be careful. Also, comparing a shoot of a vivacious young woman to necrophilia is in needlessly bad taste. I understand you're frustrated, but please Be Nice, there are real people on the other end here.

Thanks for the reply Garion. When you are doing your customer research I am curious as to how you framing the question and defining who qualifies as a tattooed model? These days tattoos are far more culturally acceptable and it is becoming increasingly common for young women to have tattoos, often a small number of small and unobtrusive ones. There is a big difference between these kind of tattoos and women with more extensive full sleeve and/or full back tattoos.

Most of the women who model for Abby Winters seem to fall into former category. It can be frustrating to see the lengths that are gone to to cover these kinds of small tattoos. I appreciate you working on ways to do this better, but ultimately I don't see a way of doing this that does not end often up being unnatural and distracting.

I would speculate that there are probably a lot of people who might object to heavily tattooed models who would not object to leaving a small tattoos uncovered.

Thanks again for your time, hope this feedback is helpful.

The beauty of Abby Winters has always been the un_retouched, natural content. Birthmarks, spots and freckles are left alone along side less natural blemishes like scars, tampon strings and fragments of toilet paper caught in pubic hair. I don't think tattoos should be treated differently, especially when two-thirds of all solo shoots are now marred by clumsy cover ups.
I am totally indifferent to the presence or absence of tattoos, but the proportion of models with them reflects the general public trend which AW needs to accept before more members join me in looking for an alternative where the nude models are not wrapped or bandaged.

    Hey there!

I'm Cornelia, a model for AW and this is my first time posting. I thought I'd throw in my two cents here.

While it seems that many members are annoyed by the tattoo covering, almost all of the members dislike tattoos entirely. I think Abby made the decision to make tattooed models cover up based on this.

After my first shoot, where I used cut up socks to cover up, I invested in some adorable arm and legwarmers which I think actually enhanced the visual element of the shoots.

If a sudden decision was made to show tattoos by the site, I think it's very likely that many members may leave due to the change.

We bring our own clothes to every shoot, and personally I love having the choice; I buy bright colours to go with my outfits, and they make me feel a little cuter - when used right. It can be distracting however, when they slip down in the throes of passion and you have to hike it back up again.

However, what I love about shooting about Abby Winters is that tattoos are the only imperfection we have to cover up. I have never been asked to cover my scars for a shoot - if I did there would likely not be much to show! I have many faded scars all over my body, including my breasts, and I'm unbelievably thankful to Abby for accepting me.

On almost any other site, my scars might be a topic for heated, hurtful debate. On here, it seems nobody cares because the members are kind and forgiving - I feel welcome and appreciated.

The decision to employ non-tattooed models may be a wise one though - full nudity does have an effect.

Hi Cornelia! Thanks for your feedback from your experiences shooting, it is interesting to hear feedback from someone who has modeled for the site.

I would speculate that many of the people who are regular members (particularly long time members from before the tattoo policy was adopted) don't like the tattoo covering and don't have a problem with tattoos. I would guess many of the complaints about tattoos are coming from people who are more transient and either join for a short time or are using the pay per shoot option. Abby Winters has always been a different from most other pornography sites in the way they present women. I think many people have expectations formed by the content on more mainstream pornography sites which either leads them to object to tattoos or leads to some of the more extreme requests Garion mentioned receiving in his post above.

    I agree with Tebor,
, I can not believe in an unbiased survey, (perhaps a survey that shows shoots with women making silly moves not to show their tattoos) that most people would think this is better than the same shoot with the woman not trying to make sure that cut clothing were not showing the tattoo.

Tattoos are pervasive today. Do I like tattoos? No. Do I want one on my body? No. However the models that have tattoos would have answered these two questions in the affirmative. And if you decide to have them model. (And I really do hope that tattoos aren't made a criteria, since many women who are open minded choose to get tattoos), you should let them show their entire body in its current state.

I think everyone agrees that the majority of members don't like tattoos on models.

The problem for AW is that many, many girls today do have tattoos. I have no idea why girls do this, but they do.

    So AW has a choice.

They could only shoot models who have no tattoos. My guess is that this would be what they would like to do, but the problem is that girls without tattoos who are willing to model nude are hard to find, so AW would not have as many models. It's obviously hard enough already to find one new model every week (we haven't had one this week for example), and it would be impossible if girls with tattoos were excluded.

So the choice they made is to shoot girls with tattoos, but cover the tattoos up. The problem with that is that it means that they're not shooting naked girls any more. They're shooting covered girls. It's a bad choice. Every single member who has posted on this subject has said they don't like it. Some members have said they don't like tattoos, but no member has ever said that they like seeing the models cover up their tattoos. What members want to see is naked girls, not covered girls.

There's another choice. We know members don't like tattoos, but I would bet that most members don't mind a girl who has a few small tattoos. That's how I feel. I don't want to see a model with a huge patch of tattoos all over her chest or leg or arm or back, but a few little ones here and there don't bother me.

So the best thing would be for AW to only shoot models who have no tattoos at all, or only a few small ones, but shoot them naked. This site advertises nude girls. So shoot nude girls. As long as you avoid girls who have large unsightly ones, I can't imagine many members will complain or cancel their subs.

Given the choice of ridiculous covering of tattoos, or them uncovered, I'd be surprised if the choice was the former. Yes, I would think most people would prefer the models didn't have them, but if they do have them, then don't make lame attempts to cover them up. One shoot it was obvious the model was so obsessed with not turning one side of her body to the camera, it affected the shoot.
And the latest shoot with Chloe V wearing her top for the whole event is uninspiring to say the least.

New model Jill this weekend has no tattoos that I can see - so you get her to draw all over herself...!

She's very cute but I'd like here even better without the ink thank you :-)

Jill definitely has a few, albeit crude, tattoos and it was a pleasure to see her completely naked without the usual cut up socks and other silly stuff.

I wholeheartedly agree with Jacksonpe49 and itsgold.

The members come here to enjoy attractive, girl next door, fully nude ladies.

One or a few unobtrusive tattoos do not detract from that enjoyment. The efforts to hide tattoos often do detract from the shoot.

A reasonable portion of any shoot should be fully nude. No socks, nothing around the abdomen. Fully nude, please.

Cornelia, I noticed the arm- and legwarmers as a consistent theme in your shoots, and (before becoming aware of this thread) guessed at their functionality. And while I find it a bit distracting, that factor is overwhelmed by the fact that you're incredibly sexy.

Even after a decade of operation in this field, AW still stands out as choosing exceptional models who are extraordinarily attractive in a distinctively girl-next-door kind of way. If covering tattoos is a necessary development in continuing that trend, it's one that I support with enthusiasm.

    Hi all,

I can not understand this discussion because of the tattoos. I do not like tattoos, but I have no problem with it. It is the time spirit that is lived by the young modern women today. I also do not like the women shaving nowadays. Therefore, I am grateful to see that on this site many non-shaved models are shown. Nevertheless, I also see the films with shaved models.

I enjoy the pretty bodies and faces, their actions and their natural radiance. I have the highest respect for the courage and the naturalness, how they preset there in front of the camera. Since disturb a few tattoos definitely not.

If I imagine that e.g. Carly T or Hannah C because of your tattoos would not have been taken as models, then one would have missed many hours of most beautiful eroticism.

As I understand it, this site stands for naturalness, fairness and tolerance to the actors. We should think the same way.

    Regards

Clarisa & Yasmina - another shoot with ridiculous covering of tattoos - Clarisa has a small one under her right breast - so she folds down the bra for the stills. And no shots of her back, or tightly cropped because she has one on her lower back. If the video is as constrained as the stills, it will be very disappointing.

havijack, The reason she kept on the bra and socks was to comply with the rediculous AW rules on covering tattoos.

Thanks werdna38, I didn't know the reason why but now I do I totally agree that the rules regarding tattoos are stupid, other sites similar to AW (like Ersties, IFM, girlsoutwest) have no such problem with models being fully nude with tattoos whether they be one or two small ones or all over.

Please don't thank me because now you are aware of the rules you will see their application in nearly every video from now on. I should have pointed out that a thread that explains and discusses the issues can be found here https://forums.abbywinters.com/vbull...ad.php?t=19522
