    AW Coder Diablo

Congrartualtions Diablo on your new role at AW, is that the reason you moved to Melbourne.

I look forward to seeing what changes you can bring about to the code on this site, maybe you can teach willow how the code can be more loader friendly to browsers such as IE

Dang, Abby decided to let the cat out of the bag early (bad kitty!)... I was hoping to mess with your heads for a bit!

Thanks for the congratulations, stoneyyy. Yes, as you can see, a coding team is seldom productive if its members are scattered around the world; hence I had to engulf myself in heaps of bubble wrap, climb into a wooden crate, stamp Freight to AWHQ on the side, and seal the lid. I wish they could have picked a better in-freight movie, though.

Now if we can bring WaffyW, mej and shanon down under as well, then we might have a near-firecracker brewing in the office...

Oh, and I think it might be Willow that might be teaching me things instead... after all, he's had a lot more IT experience than I have... but let's hope we both help make the site even more kick-arse than it ever has been

                        HOLY POTATOES! This is fantastic!

Dang, Abby, you did it again - snagged one of the best for the Team. It's uncanny how you seem to just attract people of such high calibre. I dunno about Diablo's coding but I can vouch for his character as it's been revealed to us on the boards, and if ever there was one who would fit at AWHQ it's Diablo, sure.

                        Way to go, Di-ab-lo!

I say congratulations to both of you, this really is the proverbial winning combination.

                        Yes, yes, yes!

And here is the answer to my question from the Question Game.

                          Congrats Diablo!

Did you use the slide-rule joke in your interview?

I don't envy your poor neck though. I imagine it's whiplash city working at AWHQ.

A coder is someone that writes the computer code that as VD said, makes the computer do funky things, or in this case makes the site all work

Can't really say, at this stage... you need not worry, though... you'll all appreciate the benefits of it, indirectly.

Although I spent a good part of today trying to get my dual-boot WinXP/Linux workstation to utilise dual-head in X11 under Linux (Fedora Core 5). Frustrating, to say the least, especially when it comes down to working with SMP kernels and proprietary video drivers that don't do what they're told. If there's one thing I suck at with Linux, it's setting it up from total scratch; it's been so long since I last had to do that, because it's so damn stable, it just never carks it in the first place. I'll get on top of it, I know I will! (Hats off to our IT manager guy for helping me with some things along the way).

Well, Val's got her Valeriens... I wonder if I can round up my own support group... how about... the Diablonians! Y'know... people I can rant off to and they'll offer me consolation, or make me feel better when I'm feeling down... To be honest, I feel incredibly flattered when you guys show a bit of interest in what I do... I can't thank you all enough for the compliments and congratulations received so far

Step 1: Ask Vid Dude for tips on how he manages to do this, as he's been able to pull this off for the last 6 years!

To be honest, it's no big deal... they're all awesome people in real life, and I have a huge amount of respect for all of them. Put it this way... if you posed nude for some shoot, wouldn't it bother you if someone approached you face-to-face and wanted to talk about it? Especially in front of others? And wouldn't it be invasive and intimidating if you couldn't push that person away? With this in mind, being tactful is key.

(frankly, I am rather desensitized to the site content now, and have been for some time, but I still think it's exceptionally good for what it is, and I can still appreciate it in a non-self-gratifying way).

It's easy. You just pretend that it doesn't faze you at all, even though in reality it sends shivers down to your toes at every moment.

There's some pretty decent software around that can convert mpgs and wmvs to mp4. You won't be right up to the minute but you can take some of your favorite models along with you!

I know, that's great! But what needs addressing is the PSP Wi-fi browsing aspect, not file formats & storage.
Basically, the PSP's browser is rather... limited, shall we say, in its capabilities. AW.com usually gets it to throw hissy-fits!
